    摘要: Provided are an apparatus and method for driving a 2-dimensional (2D)/3-dimensional (3D) switchable display for improving the quality of image. The apparatus for driving a 2D/3D switchable display includes: an image mode determination unit determining whether input image signals of continuous frames are in a 2D mode or 3D mode; and an over-driving control unit over-driving the input image signal of a current differently according to the determined image mode. According to the apparatus and method, the response time in each of the 2D mode and the 3D mode can be increased, while motion blur and cross-talk effects can be decreased, thereby improving the quality of image.

    摘要: Provided are an image processing apparatus and method which can adjust the disparity of an input three-dimensional (3D) image and stably display the 3D image. The image processing apparatus includes: an image dividing unit receiving a 3D image and dividing the 3D image into a left-eye image and a right-eye image; a histogram generation unit estimating disparities between the left-eye image and the right-eye image, measuring a frequency with which the estimated disparities occur, and generating a histogram of the disparities and the frequency; a horizontal movement value determination unit determining a horizontal movement value for the left-eye image and the right-eye image using the generated histogram; and a horizontal movement unit moving the left-eye image and the right-eye image horizontally based on the determined horizontal movement value. The image processing apparatus can control convergence of an image to enhance 3D effects and reduce eye fatigue.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for adjusting disparity in a 3D image and a 3D imaging device thereof are provided. The apparatus includes a disparity estimator which estimates disparity in an input 3D image and determines a disparity histogram pixel-wise; a disparity adjustor which analyzes energy of a parallax range of the disparity histogram and determines a disparity adjustment amount; and a 3D image reproducer which reproduces the 3D image based on the disparity adjustment amount. Accordingly, the disparity adjustment amount is determined by analyzing disparity energy of the disparity histogram, so a viewer may feel visual comfort and an optimal stereoscopic effect may be provided.

    摘要: A high resolution 2D/3D switchable display apparatus includes a display panel having display elements arranged in pixel units and configured to display an image. A lenticular lens array includes a plurality of lenticular lenses arranged in a horizontal direction and dividing light corresponding to a signal emitted from the display panel to visual regions of left and right eyes. A spatial optical modulator includes a plurality of cells configured to switch on or off in synchronization with a vertical scanning time of the display panel, wherein each of the plurality of cells is changed to a transparent or opaque state. The display panel sequentially displays an even field including even sequence data of a left eye image and a right eye image and an odd field including odd sequence data of the left eye image and the right eye image.
