The method includes: selecting a pair of first and second images from a pair of frames of the stereoscopic image, the pair of frames including a base view image and an additional view image. The method further includes determining which of the first image and the second image is the base view image and which of the first image and the second image is the additional view image based on a parallax between the pair of first and second images.

    摘要： Provided are an apparatus and method for driving a 2-dimensional (2D)/3-dimensional (3D) switchable display for improving the quality of image. The apparatus for driving a 2D/3D switchable display includes: an image mode determination unit determining whether input image signals of continuous frames are in a 2D mode or 3D mode; and an over-driving control unit over-driving the input image signal of a current differently according to the determined image mode. According to the apparatus and method, the response time in each of the 2D mode and the 3D mode can be increased, while motion blur and cross-talk effects can be decreased, thereby improving the quality of image.

    摘要： Provided are a method and apparatus for displaying a two-dimensional (2D)/three-dimensional (3D) image, and apparatus to execute the same, the method including determining whether an input image sequence having a first frame rate is a 2D image sequence or a 3D image sequence, wherein, if the input image sequence is a 2D image sequence, generating a 2D output image sequence having a second frame rate, the 2D output image sequence including the input image sequence and a 2D intermediate image generated from the input image sequence, and wherein, if the input image sequence is a 3D image sequence, generating a 3D output image sequence having a third frame rate, where a left-viewpoint intermediate image, a right-viewpoint intermediate image and the input image sequence are repeatedly included in the 3D output image sequence, the left-viewpoint intermediate image is determined from at least one left-viewpoint image in a left-viewpoint image sequence included in the input image sequence, and the right-viewpoint intermediate image is determined from at least one right-viewpoint image in a right-viewpoint image sequence included in the input image sequence.

The method includes determining the image brightness level of the 3D video sequence displayed on a liquid crystal display (LCD) unit, for each of a plurality of partial regions of the LCD unit to which a plurality of sub-blocks of the backlight unit emit light; determining turn-on times of the plurality of sub-blocks of the backlight unit, based on the image brightness of each of the partial regions of the LCD unit; and determining turn-on periods of the plurality of sub-blocks of the backlight unit by synchronizing with a switching period between a set including a left visual point frame and a right visual point frame of the 3D video sequence.
