摘要： The object of the present invention is to provide a cellular phone to be used for emergency reports that performs GPS positioning by means of remote control from an emergency report center, and transmits positional information to the emergency report center. The emergency report cellular phone according to the present invention is constituted such that when an emergency report switch thereof is depressed, a call request is made to the emergency report center. The emergency report center transmits a response signal with the result that a call link is formed between the emergency report cellular phone and the emergency report center. Following completion of the telephone call, the emergency report center transmits a position recalculation command message, by means of a DTMF signal. The emergency report cellular phone, which has received this command message, performs GPS positioning and then converts latitudinal and longitudinal information to a DTMF signal before transmitting same to the emergency report center. As a result, even in a case where, in a time of emergency, a reporting party is unable to perform GPS positioning manually as a result of a poor physical condition, for example, since GPS positioning is possible by means of remote control, it is possible to rescue the reporting party in a rapid and reliable manner.

摘要： A recorder control apparatus which controls execution of broadcast program recording in a plurality of recorders connected thereto, comprises an acceptance unit configured to accept a request to execute broadcast program recording, an acquisition unit configured to acquire, from each recorder, reservation information related to reserved program recording to be executed by the recorder after a point at which the execution request is accepted, a selection unit configured to select, from the plurality of recorders, a recorder capable of executing broadcast program recording corresponding to the execution request for a longest duration, based on the reservation information, and a request unit configured to request the recorder selected by the selection unit to execute broadcast program recording corresponding to the execution request.

摘要： To select a recording device for recording a program in a digital television receiver to which a plurality of recorders (recording devices) are connected, control is performed to acquire image quality information about the program to be recorded and to compare the program image quality to be recorded with the recording image quality of a recording medium for each connected recording device. Based on the result of this comparison, a recorder is selected that can secondarily record the program onto a recording medium without compromising the program image quality.

摘要： To improve ease of operation with which a user selects an image when many images are simultaneously displayed on a screen, a frame, which divides many images into 12 areas, is superimposed and displayed on a screen displaying thumbnail exhibition thereon. For example, the press of a channel key allows selecting one of the areas and moving to the selected area a focus frame indicating a candidate image for selection, and then the presses of cursor keys allow moving the focus frame to a desired image to be selected. The number of areas can be changed and displayed according to the number of channel keys when a television remote control is used, or according to the number of numeric keys when a mobile telephone is used.

摘要： A horizontal synchronizing signal is applied as a reference signal and a voltage-controlled oscillator outputs a display clock signal on the basis of the frequency of the horizontal synchronizing signal. The frequency of the display clock signal is frequency-divided in accordance with a frequency-dividing value selected from among a plurality of frequency-dividing signals stored in advance, the difference in frequency between the frequency-divided display clock signal and the horizontal synchronizing signal and the phase difference between them are obtained by a phase comparator, and the frequency of the signal outputted by the voltage-controlled oscillator is decided in dependence upon the frequency difference. In an interval in which a vertical synchronizing signal turns off and the frequency of the horizontal synchronizing signal fluctuates, the reference signal and the horizontal synchronizing signal input to the phase comparator are held fixed to prevent a fluctuation in the outputted display clock.

摘要： A display apparatus includes a display panel having a scanning line and an information line and circuitry for generating and outputting image information periodically. A horizontal synchronizing signal determining a single period of the image information is output sequentially, with an interval between sequential outputtings. A writing time necessary for writing image information on the scanning line is determined and the writing time is divided by a corresponding interval of the horizontal synchronizing signal to obtain a quotient. The quotient is then rounded up into the next highest integer N. The apparatus then calculates a thinned out value (N-1), thins out the image information during a time corresponding to a number of periods based on the thinned out value and transfers the thinned out image information to the display panel. As a result, proper synchronization between the supply of data and the scanning of the display is provided, even for low frequency, high definition scanning.
