摘要: A projection display apparatus is provided with a projection distance adjustment mechanism for adjusting a distance between a projection plane and an emitting position of projection light, and provided with a focus adjustment mechanism for making a focus adjustment of a projection image with respect to the projection plane. The focus adjustment mechanism is driven such that a projection image is properly focused onto the projection plane in accordance with the distance between the projection plane and the emitting position.

摘要: An imager is shifted with respect to an optical axis of a refractive optical system. Thereby, a throw distance of a projector is shortened. A wavelength-selective half wavelength plate for rotating a polarization direction of green light beams is disposed between a dichroic prism and the refractive optical system in such a manner that the polarization direction of the green light beams is in parallel to the shifting direction. Thereby, the green light beams are incident onto the refractive optical system as P-polarized beams, whereby a transmittance of the green light beams in the refractive optical system is increased, while suppressing lowering of the light amount of the green light beams, and color non-uniformity resulting from lowering of the light amount of the green light beams.

摘要: An illumination device includes a light source part for emitting light with an intensity distribution approximately uniform in a first direction and a fly-eye lens into which the light is entered. The light source part and the fly-eye lens are arranged such that the first direction is inclined with respect to vertical and horizontal directions of arrangement of lens cells in the fly-eye lens. Since illumination light is entered into the fly-eye lens in a state of inclining with respect to the fly-eye lens, the number of superimposition patterns on the fly-eye lens is increased and illuminance non-uniformity in illumination light is suppressed.

摘要: An image display device includes a light source which emits laser light; an optical element which is operable to switch between a first state for reducing a coherence of the laser light and a second state for substantially maintaining the coherence of the laser light; a switching control circuit which controls the optical element; an imager which modulates the laser light transmitted through the optical element; and a modulation control circuit which controls the imager based on an image signal. The modulation control circuit causes the imager to render an image pattern for generating an image by changing alight amount at each pixel position when the optical element is in the first state, and causes the imager to render a hologram pattern for generating an image by diffraction when the optical element is in the second state.

摘要: A shift device for an automatic transmission of an automobile includes an indicator box affixed to the automobile floor. The indicator box has, in part, a wavy surface and a shift lever which is moved back and forth about an axle by an operator of the automobile. A spring-biased check ball is resiliently held in contact with the wavy surface of the indicator box, and is moved back and forth with respect to the axle in correspondence with motion of the shift lever. The position of the shift lever is regulated by the wavy surface of the indicator box and an indicator is visually provided, so that the shift lever stops accurately at positions of the indicator without needing adjustment during assembly of the selected shift device in a manufacturing assembly line.

摘要: Herein disclosed is an improved direction changing mechanism used in a shift control mechanism of a transverse manual transmission. The direction changing mechanism comprises a drive member movable together with the control rod; and at least one driven member movable together with the shift fork. The driven member is formed with a rectangular recess into which a head portion of the drive member is insertable under a certain condition so that upon selecting operation, the head portion of the drive member is put in the recess of the driven member and upon shifting operation, the head portion of the drive member abuts against one of the side walls of the recess thereby to move the driven member in a certain direction thereby completing a gear coupling. The head portion of the drive member is so sized and constructed that when the drive member assumes its rest or neutral position, the head portion is spacedly put in the recess without contacting the driven member, while, when the drive member assumes its operative position to complete the gear coupling, the head portion contact both the side walls of the recess.
