The ink cartridge includes a plurality of print heads ejecting ink, an ink channel unit supplying ink to the plurality of print heads, at least one filter unit filtering ink supplied to the ink channel unit, and at least one septum unit connecting the ink channel unit, at least one filter unit, and the inkjet printer. The ink circulation system includes the ink cartridge, an ink tank storing ink to be supplied to the ink cartridge, at least one 3-way valve interposed between the ink cartridge and the ink tank to selectively control channel circulation and priming circulation, the channel circulation circulating ink in the ink channel unit and the priming circulation circulating ink in the at least one filter unit, and an ink pump interposed between the at least one 3-way valve and the ink tank for providing driving power for circulating ink.

The filter is formed in a convex shape protruding toward the printhead. Ink particles and bubbles flowing from the ink reservoir to the printhead are filtered out, bubbles which may flow from the printhead to the ink reservoir, move to edges of the filter, and the ink is smoothly supplied to the printhead.

    摘要: An ink supply system for an ink cartridge includes an ink tank and a negative pressure regulator. The ink tank holds ink of a predetermined color therein and has an exit port disposed on a lower portion thereof to dispense ink from the tank. The negative pressure regulator is attached to the ink tank and has a body, a needle protruding from an upper portion of the body, and a needle protective member disposed about the needle and to move vertically over the needle. When the ink tank and the negative pressure regulator are assembled, the exit port presses down on the needle protective member, and the needle extends from the needle protective member into the exit port.

The provided ink cartridge has an ink reservoir and a housing for covering the ink reservoir with a negative pressure maintenance unit therebetween, to maintain the inner pressure of the ink reservoir under a negative pressure. Since the negative pressure maintenance unit does not contact ink in the ink reservoir, the negative pressure maintenance unit does not corrode. In addition, the negative pressure maintenance unit is installed between the housing and the ink reservoir while occupying a small space, and thus improving the filling efficiency of ink in the ink reservoir.

The ink cartridge is provided with the ink blocking part and the storage part, so that suppression of ink evaporation is maximized, and the air inflow passageways maintaining a negative pressure are prevented from being clogged with flowing-back ink caused by shocks or movements of a printer during carrying of the printer or an external temperature rise, or with an inflow of minute dust and so on.

    摘要: A head of an inkjet printer is formed by bonding of a heater substrate and a nozzle plate. In order to bond the heater substrate where a heater thin film and a protecting film are vapor-deposited, and the nozzle plate where a nozzle is formed, an intermediate layer is formed by forming a thin film of glass on the heater substrate by vapor-depositing, and the nozzle plate is installed on the heater substrate. SiO2 is formed at an interface between the nozzle plate and the heater thin film due to heating and application of an electric field, and thus the nozzle plate and the heater substrate are bonded with an electrostatic force of SiO2. The nozzle plate and the heater substrate are bonded by using the intermediate layer made of the thin film of glass instead of a general polymer as the bonding layer, thereby preventing swelling of the polymer and isolation of layers of the head occurring due to ink penetration into interfaces of the layers. Moreover, a bonding process is performed in wafer units to improve mass productivity.

    摘要: A bonding apparatus and method thereof to bond the bonding portions of an FPC cable to pads of a print head die in order to electrically connect the print head die of an ink jet print head assembly include a stage and a bonding tool. The print head die includes resistive heaters, signal lines connected to the resistive heaters, and electrical pads to connect the signal lines to an outside of the print head die to the FPC cable having conductors having bonding portions facing the pads. The print head die is supported on the stage with the pads facing upward. The bonding tool includes a tip that press bonding portions of the FPC cable against corresponding pads of the print head die placed on the stage, and heats the bonding portions in contact with the pads to bond the bonding portion to the pads. The bonding tool includes a protrusion positioned to align with a position beyond the boundary of the print head die, and that extends lower than the tip, such that, during the bonding operation, the protrusion bends the FPC cable downward. In addition, during the bonding operation, the upper protective film of the FPC cable around the bonding portions are left intact to provide protective layer over the resulting bond, and thus results in less amount of encapsulation over the bond.
