摘要: A method of estimating non-destructively the life expectancy of ceramic members, at least a surface layer of which is made of ceramics, is disclosed. The method comprises measuring a variation in at least one of physical characteristics of said ceramic members including color, grain size, electroconductivity and Young's modulus and estimating the life expectancy of the ceramic members on the basis of the predetermined relationship between the life of said ceramics and the physical characteristics. The method is excellent in estimation of the life expectancy of ceramic members of gas turbines or nuclear fusion reactor since the life expectancy of the members to be inspected can easily be estimated in a short time without fracturing the members.

摘要: To prevent occurrence of abnormal discharge which would reduce the quality of images in a PDP. At least one of an address electrode, a bus electrode, a bus main electrode, and a black electrode of a display electrode formed on a substrate is formed of metal particles and high-resistance glass to dissipate charge accumulated on a dielectric through the high-resistance glass and to prevent charging in a glass component itself, thereby reducing abnormal discharge. The high-resistance glass is preferably realized by vanadium phosphate glass containing vanadium, phosphorus, antimony, and barium. The metal particles desirably contain flaky particles.

摘要: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a spacer having a small absolute value of the temperature coefficient of resistance, the spacer being excellent in suppressing a thermal runaway, the spacer being excellent in voltage endurance so as not to cause an abnormal discharge even if a high voltage of over 10 kV is applied, the spacer being unlikely to cause deflection of an electron beam, and a flat panel display device provided with this spacer. The spacer of the flat panel display device includes, on the surface of a glass substrate, a thin film that comprises substances exhibiting metal-like electrical conductivity dispersed in an oxide matrix exhibiting semiconductor-like electrical conductivity. Alternatively, the spacer includes, on the surface of a glass substrate, a particle-dispersed oxide thin film that comprises substances exhibiting metal-like electrical conductivity dispersed in an oxide matrix, and the spacer further includes, on top of this film, an oxide thin film composed of an oxide exhibiting semiconductor-like electrical conductivity.

摘要: It is an object to provide an electric conductive, Pb-free bonding material for securing spacers for display panels of display devices. The electric conductive bonding material as the first aspect of the present invention contains a V2O5-based glass as a main component, and particles of a metal selected from the group consisting of Pt, Pd, Cr, Ni, Al, Si, Zn, Au and Fe—Ni alloy, or of one or more species of electric conductive ceramics which can be selected from the group consisting of TiC, SiC, WC, ZnO, Fe2O3, FeO, Fe3O4, AgV7O18 and Ag2V4O11 at 10 to 50% by volume. The electric conductive bonding material as the second aspect of the present invention contains V2O5 at 55 to 75%, P2O5 at 15 to 30%, BaO at 0 to 25% Sb2O3 at 0 to 15% (total content of BaO and Sb2O3 adjusted at 5% or more), and GeO2 at 5 to 20% or Ag2O at 3 to 10%, all percentages by mass.
