Abstract:
An electronic apparatus using NAND flash memory and a memory management method thereof are provided. The electronic apparatus uses the NAND flash memory to record data in the system memory. In the present method, when a standby instruction is received, a fast flash standby (FFS) procedure is initiated, and a state of the NAND flash memory is checked to determine whether the NAND flash memory is suitable for recording the data in the system memory. If the state is determined as suitable for recording the data, the data in the system memory is copied to the NAND flash and the operating system of the electronic apparatus is controlled to enter a hibernate mode. On the contrary, if the state is determined as not suitable for recording the data, the operating system of the electronic apparatus is controlled to enter a standby mode.
Abstract:
Techniques for using multiple sampling frequencies to detect the location of touch inputs of a user at a touch panel of a touch device. A determination is made as to which of and second sampling frequencies is provided to a receiver for use in sampling the touch inputs from the touch panel. The user touch inputs are first sampled from the touch panel during first and second successive time frames using first and second different sampling frequencies, respectively.
Abstract:
A wireless communication device and method for automatically selecting a band and mode is provided. Utilizing the global positioning system to obtain the position of the wireless device for simplifying the process of searching service networks and reducing power consumption. Furthermore, a method for a wireless communication device to automatically select a band and mode is also provided.
Abstract:
Establishing a wireless link for a computer includes executing a basic input output system (BIOS), using a wireless module built in the computer to scan at least one nearby access point when executing the BIOS, and linking the wireless module to an access point of the at least one access point. Because the computer can scan nearby access points with the built in wireless module when executing the BIOS, an access point can be linked by the wireless module before an operating system is initialized.
Abstract:
A method to save time needed in battery replacement for a Notebook and a battery detector thereof is comprised of having placed the battery detector containing a voltage detection circuit and a register module in the Notebook. When the power level of the battery falls below a first threshold, a prompt menu including a battery replacement option is displayed. When battery replacement option is selected, the Notebook enters a sleep mode and a numeric value marking the need of an automatic power on for the Notebook is stored in the register module. If the voltage detected by the voltage detection circuit is greater than a second threshold, and a numeric value marking the need of an automatic power on for the Notebook is stored in the register module, the Notebook is driven to perform a power on procedure.
Abstract:
A wireless communication system of a notebook computer includes a first antenna, an antenna array module and a wireless local area network (WLAN) module. The antenna array module includes a plurality of second antennas and a plurality of connectors electrically connected to the second antennas via corresponding signal transmission lines, wherein the distance between two adjacent second antennas is identical, and the length of each signal transmission line is equal. The wireless local area network (WLAN) module has a switch unit electrically connected to the first antenna and the antenna array module to select one of the first antenna and the antenna array module to receive/transmit a signal according to an operational mode of the WLAN module.
Abstract:
A common assembly structure of laser diode and PIN detector comprises a subassembly structure formed by connecting a laser diode to a submount made of low-capacitance material, and the sub-assembly structure is then implemented on a PIN detector. The so-called laser diode comprises a vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) and an edge-emitting laser (EEL), wherein the EEL further comprises, for example, a Fabry-Perot Laser (F-P Laser) and a Distributed Feedback Bragg Laser. The common assembly structure of laser diode and PIN detector completely separates the anode and cathode of the semiconductor laser from the anode and cathode of the PIN detector thereby effectively reducing the parasitic capacitance effect derived from the PIN detector itself and the assembly structure, and is suitable for use in the high-speed laser driving circuits.
Abstract:
A wireless transmission system includes a control unit, a first transmission unit, a second transmission unit, a plurality of switches, and a plurality of RF ends. The first transmission unit includes a first transceiver module and a first MAC module. The second transmission unit includes a second transceiver module and a second MAC module. The plurality of RF ends has a plurality of streams for transmitting a wireless signal. The control unit controls the plurality of switches to connect the first transmission unit and the second transmission unit respectively with the plurality of RF ends to distribute the plurality of streams, and controls the first transceiver module and the second transceiver module to manage the plurality of streams.
Abstract:
An electronic apparatus with an antenna, an anti-jamming system and a method are disclosed. The electronic apparatus comprises a casing and the antenna. The antenna is composed of a patterned metal thin film and a carrier and provided for processing a wireless signal. The casing and the antenna are made by injection molding. When the electronic apparatus has a display device, the anti-jamming system can modulate a clock signal generated by the display device to prevent the multiplication of clock signal from interfering with signals within an operating band of the antenna.
