摘要: An assembly includes two tubular elements, a primary and a secondary seal arranged between the two tubular elements, a seal cavity formed between the two tubular elements and the primary and the secondary seal, and a seal monitoring apparatus having a housing and a position sensor. The housing has a chamber enclosing a separator which divides the chamber into a first and a second sub-chamber. The first sub-chamber is fluidly connected to the seal cavity and is filled with a hydraulic fluid. The separator is movable in a first direction relative to the housing to increase a volume of the first sub-chamber and decrease a volume of the second sub-chamber, and in a second direction to decrease the volume of the first sub-chamber and increase the volume of the second sub-chamber. The position sensor generates an electrical signal which represents a position of the separator relative to the housing.

The connector has a sensor assembly which provides an output representing a degree of movement of one or both of the two bodies. The method includes installing the connector and the two bodies in a use position in which the connector joins the two bodies, and using the output from the sensor assembly and a numerical model to determine a force on one or both of the two bodies or of the condition of the connector. The numerical model is a record of test forces applied to a test element secured to the connector or of a test connector having a same configuration as the connector and a corresponding output from the sensor assembly of the connector or of the test connector during and/or after the application of each test force.

The sensor is arranged in the further passage and electrically connects to the second electrical connection.

摘要: Subsea power supply assembly supplying electric power to a motor at a second location from a first location. The subseas power supply assembly includes a variable speed drive (VSD) and a step-up transformer connected to it. At a subsea location the assembly includes a first step-down transformer with input and output and an uninterruptible power supply having an input. A step-out cable supplies power from the step-up transformer to the motor. The cable connects to the first step-down transformer. The speed of the electric motor is proportional to the output frequency of the VSD. The power receiving input of the uninterruptible power supply connects to the output of the first stepdown transformer, thereby receiving electrical power with frequency equal to the output frequency of the VSD.
