摘要: Cooling systems for medical probe assemblies are provided. For example, a cooling system comprises a pump assembly including a control unit having a controller, a motor, and a pump head driven by the motor; a fluid reservoir; a lumen for delivering a cooling fluid to the medical probe assembly distal end; tubing extending through the pump head for conveying the cooling fluid from the fluid reservoir to the lumen; and a flow sensor for sensing the cooling fluid flow rate. The pump head is disposed between the fluid reservoir and the medical probe assembly to pump the cooling fluid from the fluid reservoir to the lumen. The flow sensor is disposed between the pump head and the medical probe assembly to sense the cooling fluid flow rate. Methods for controlling fluid flow rate through a cooling circuit and systems for using a plurality of medical probe assemblies also are provided.

摘要: The present disclosure is directed to a system and method for selectively and reversibly modulating targeted neural and non-neural tissue of a nervous system for the treatment of pain. An electrical stimulation is delivered to the treatment site that selectively and reversibly modulates the targeted neutral- and non-neural tissue of the nervous structure, inhibiting the perception of pain while preserving other sensory and motor function, and proprioception.

摘要: A therapy wrap for treatment of at least a portion of an animate body having improved kink resistance. The therapy wrap may be selectively reinforced for improved kink resistance in only a portion of the wrap. The reinforcement may decrease the kink radius. The wrap may include a kink reducer in all or only a selected kink-prone region. The kink reducer may be selectively configured attachment points or spot welds. The therapy wrap may include a reinforcement layer of one or more discrete reinforcement members. The wrap may be formed by pre-tensioning the material layers while forming the fluid bladder and/or gas pressure bladder. The therapy wrap may be adapted to compensate for conditions that normally cause kinking of the wrap or buckling of the fluidic channels. Also disclosed are methods of manufacturing the wrap and methods of administering a temperature-controlled treatment to an anatomical body part.

摘要: A respiratory access assembly may include a manifold having a first mating surface defining a first port opening. The respiratory access assembly may include a rotatable adapter having a second mating surface defining a second port opening and a seal assembly disposed between the manifold and the rotatable adapter that includes a first seal ring, a second seal ring, and an outer seal ring disposed proximate an outer perimeter of at least one of the manifold or the rotatable adapter. The rotatable adapter may be rotatable relative to the manifold between an open configuration and a closed configuration. The seal assembly may include a connection portion connected between the first seal ring and the second seal ring. The connection portion may form a seal between the first mating surface and the second mating surface between the first seal ring and the second seal ring.

摘要: A plunger gasket with reduced surface contact area including a body, a first side defining a first side surface, a second side defining a second side surface, and at least one surface feature projecting outwardly from at least one of the first or second side surfaces. In example embodiments, at least one surface feature projects outwardly from both the first and second side surfaces. By reducing the surface areas of contact between gaskets during manufacture and processing, the incidence of unintentional cohesion may be reduced or eliminated.

摘要: A container for collecting, storing and dispensing fluid, as in enteral feeding and/or medication deliver to neonatal infants. The container includes a hollow tube with a body, a first end, a second end, and an outer diameter. The hollow tube is configured to receive a movable plunger that advances and retracts therein to define a variable contained volume. The container also includes a sealing head assembly removably mounted at an end of the hollow tube. The sealing head assembly has a diameter or outside dimension that is substantially similar or identical to a corresponding outside diameter or dimension of the hollow tube, so that the container lies flat within the receiver of an enteral feeding pump.

摘要: A configurable pathway deviation indication system for medical device placement includes one or more user-adjustable pathway boundaries and an indication activated upon reaching or breaching of any of the pathway boundaries. The system may include a medical device configured to be inserted into a patient; a location transmitter configured to transmit a signal related to a position of the medical device; and a detector device configured to receive information related to the patient's body and the location transmitter. The system may be operatively coupled to the location transmitter and the at least one detector device. The system may further include a display and a computing system comprising one or more processors and or more non-transitory computer-readable media. The system can display the position of the location transmitter; determine if the position of the location transmitter reaches any pathway boundaries; and provide the indication when the pathway boundary is breached and/or approached.

摘要: A medical plug apparatus for use in conjunction with an ostomy procedure includes a cap and an elongated cylindrical shaft. The cap has a top surface, a bottom surface, and a first thickness. The elongated cylindrical shaft extends orthogonally away from the bottom surface of the cap from a proximal end to a distal end and has shaft diameter and the shaft length adapted to plug a stoma cavity upon inserting the elongated cylindrical shaft into the stoma cavity. The cap includes a gripping portion that has a gripping diameter such that, upon exerting a pulling force on the first region and the second region of the gripping portion, the elongated cylindrical shaft is directed outwardly away from the patient by the pulling force causing a substantially axial tension force on the elongated cylindrical shaft.
