    Abstract: An overmolded coil assembly is provided and includes a body having a generally hollow cylindrical shape and including a central aperture and an inner surface defining a recess. A spool is received in the recess of the body. The spool includes an annular barrel and has opposite first and second ends. The first end is adjacent the central aperture of the body. A coil of electrically conductive wire is disposed in and circumferentially surrounds the annular barrel of the spool. A washer having inner and outer surfaces is adjacent the second end of the spool. An overmold made of an electrically insulative material covers the spool, the coil, the washer, and the body to seal around the spool, the coil, the washer, and the body. A fuel pump including the overmolded coil assembly and a method of sealing a coil assembly are also provided.

    Abstract: A method for estimating a remaining range of a vehicle battery charge includes identifying at least one route characteristic of a portion of a selected route, determining a vehicle energy consumption profile for a vehicle and determining a current state of charge of a vehicle battery of the vehicle. The method also includes determining, for the selected route, a route energy consumption profile and calculating an estimated remaining charge for the vehicle battery at an end of the selected route based on the state of charge of the vehicle battery and the route energy consumption profile. The method also includes determining whether the estimated remaining charge for the vehicle battery is within a vehicle battery charge range and, in response to a determination that the estimated remaining charge is within the vehicle battery charge range, generating a first indication; and providing the first indication.

    Abstract: A method for positive crankcase ventilation diagnosis in an engine system with an engine, an intake duct connected to the engine, a PCV line connecting a crankcase of the engine with the intake duct and a sensor for determining an actual PCV pressure (pact) in the PCV line.     Abstract: A method of determining a hydraulic timing of a fuel injector in an internal combustion engine, wherein the injector is coupled to a fuel rail comprising a pressure sensor. The method comprises:



    acquiring fuel pressure data, obtained by the pressure sensor, representing fuel pressure in the fuel rail over an acquisition window comprising an injection event of the injector;
    determining a slope parameter corresponding to a pressure drop consequential to the injection event, the slope parameter being read from a slope map;
    configuring a pressure drop model based on the slope parameter; and

    Abstract: A valve assembly for a fuel pump for a fuel system, the fuel pump comprising a pump chamber and the valve assembly comprising a solenoid winding; and an electromagnetically controlled armature operable under the influence of an electromagnetic field generated by applying a current to the solenoid winding. The armature is coupled to a valve member cooperable with a valve seat to control fuel flow, and the armature is movable within an armature bore and is exposed to fuel within an armature chamber defined within the armature bore. The valve assembly includes a clearance defined between the armature and the armature bore which defines a variable restriction to the fuel flow, whereby during armature movement in use the fuel is displaced from the armature chamber through the variable restriction so that the speed of movement of the armature is reduced as the armature moves further into the armature chamber.

    Abstract: A fuel tank isolation valve is provided having a main valve body including a fuel tank port and a canister port, a main bore, and an actuator selectively operable to allow or inhibit vented fuel vapors to move from the first port to the second port along a first path. The body can define an airflow bypass orifice that allows vapors to move from the first port, through the main bore, to the second port along a second path, while the actuator is in the closed mode inhibiting vapors from moving along the first path. This flow through the orifice can equalize pressure in a fuel tank and the canister during a purging operation on the canister. The valve can include a fitting that directly couples the valve to the canister without any intermediate hoses, in a cantilevered manner. A related method of use is provided.
