摘要： An electric motor having low vibration and/or noise comprises a rotor or stator comprising permanent magnets each comprising at least two pole pairs, with an internal flux gap within the permanent magnets between adjacent internal pole pairs. The internal flux gap between the internal pole pairs may be similar to an external pole to pole physical spacing between adjacent poles of adjacent magnets. The motor is suitable for use in for example a laundry washing machine or dryer or washer-dryer.

The throat assembly spanning the gap between respective front edges of a refrigerator cabinet (3) outer wrapper (2) and the compartment inner liner (13). The throat assembly includes at least one elongate plastics injection moulded component having a panel (15) including a planar front face (21) for contact with a door gasket seal (16) and an elongate magnet arrangement at its rear face (22) for magnetic coupling with a door gasket magnet (20). The throat assembly may comprise plural such interconnected elongate members providing a monolithic frame, formed in a single injection moulding operation, surrounding the compartment opening.

摘要： A linear compressor has a hollow piston with crown and sidewall. The piston reciprocates in a cylinder. A piston rod connects the piston to a spring. A connection between the piston rod and the piston transmits axial forces directly to the piston crown. The connection transmits lateral forces to the piston at an axial location away from the piston crown. The connection allows rotational flexibility between the piston and the piston rod transverse to and uniformly around the piston reciprocation axis.Other improvements in or relating to linear compressors are disclosed and claimed.

摘要： A pump for washing appliance is described. The pump has a pump casing in which an impeller is located. The pump casing has an inlet and outlet, and an inlet conduit extending from the inlet at a small angle above the horizontal. The ceiling includes a downwardly extending dividing wall section extending radially from a central location to a side wall of the casing. The dividing wall is positioned between the inlet outlet. The ceiling incorporates a ramped surface rising around the central location, between the outlet side and the inlet side of the dividing wall. The ramped surface is higher adjacent the inlet side than the outlet side of the dividing wall section so that when the impeller is not rotating, air inside the pump chamber will rise up the ramped surface through the inlet and up the inlet conduit.

The appliance is a drum and a drum support structure supporting the drum for rotation. There is a movement interface between the drum support structure and the cabinet or surround structure, allowing the drum support structure to move between an operating condition within the cabinet and a maintenance condition wherein the drum and drum support structure are at least substantially disposed outside the envelope defined by the cabinet. In the operating condition the drum and support structure are hidden behind the removable front panel. They may be moved out to the maintenance condition after removal of the front panel.
