摘要: A transfer wheel assembly is provided for mounting on disabled railway vehicles to enable the disabled vehicle to be safely moved. The transfer wheel assembly includes a pair of transfer wheels for mounting on a pair of rails. Each wheel is rotatably mounted to a support frame. The support frame, in turn, is mountable on the truck of the disabled vehicle. The support frames are connected to one another by a spreader bar which maintains the proper spacing between the support wheels.

摘要: An insulated joint is provided for use between sections of rail that are disposed in adjacent signal circuits. The insulated joint includes a separator disposed between a pair of dielectric end posts. The end posts have a plan configuration substantially identical to the cross section of the rail sections with which they are used. The separator is constructed from a material having sufficient strength to enable it to withstand the forces exerted by the wheels of the train. The insulating fabric disposed between the joint bar and the rail is removed at least in the portion thereof adjacent the separator head portion thereby avoiding the problem of having the insulating fabric wear adjacent the separator. In locations where the separator would be subject to greater than normal forces, a head portion with a height greater than that of the rail sections is provided to increase the strength of the separator. The joint bar in turn is appropriately configured to accept the head portion of the separator and can be reinforced for added strength.

摘要: This disclosure is generally drawn to methods, systems, devices and/or apparatus related to reducing and/or restricting water from entering underground transportation systems. Specifically, the disclosed methods, systems, devices and/or apparatus relate to reducing and/or restricting water from entering underground transportation systems via vents based on the weight of the water, while not restricting ventilation airflow when water is not present. Some example systems for restricting water flow in a surface vent may include a frame configured to receive water, a door pivotally coupled to the frame (where the door may pivot between a first position and a second position), and a reservoir pivotally coupled to the door. The reservoir may collect the received water and may cause the door to pivot between the first position and the second position based on a weight of the collected water.

摘要: A resilient rail fastener assembly for curved tracks includes a unitary base plate adapted to receive a load carrying rail which includes a pair of planar brace plates for maintaining the rail in a vertical orientation and reducing noise and vibration. More particularly, the rail fastener assembly includes a unitary base plate having an upstanding shoulder disposed on one side thereof, and a pair of spaced, planar upstanding brace plates disposed on the other side thereof and formed integrally with the base plate. An elastomeric pad is positioned between the base plate and the bottom of the rail, with the brace plates being disposed transverse to the longitudinal axis of the rail. The upper portion of each brace plate is disposed in abutting relationship with the upper portion of the rail. By this arrangement, centrifugal forces imparted to the curved rail by the movement of rolling stock, are transferred from the rail, through the brace plates and the base plate, and into the road bed, thereby maintaining the rail in a vertical orientation and reducing unwanted noise and vibration. In an alternative embodiment of the subject invention, a parallel guard rail is mounted between the load carrying rail and the brace plates. In the latter embodiment, the rail fastener assembly further includes a wedge which is fixedly connected to the base plate and interposed between the brace plates and the guard rail, with the wedge abutting the upper portion of the guard rail. By this arrangement, the centrifugal forces imparted to the guard rail by the rolling stock are transferred from the guard rail through the wedge and brace plates into the ground thereby maintaining the guard rail in a vertical orientation.

摘要: The present invention improves the way how a vehicle's arrival time at a stop may be determined. When a system receives at least one vehicle location record, it may extract trip data from such report. While previous trip data comprising scheduled travel time, historical travel times, and recent travel times with respect to the same vehicle's trip along a route may be extracted from a database, trip data from recent vehicle location records may be uploaded into the database as updates. The most recent stop and at least one future stop may be identified. Using both extracted and updated data, the present invention may establish links between stops, determine a travel distance for each link, and estimate a link travel time for each travel distance based upon a weighted composite. Link travel times may be aggregated to determine estimated times of arrival, which can be uploaded for user retrieval.

摘要: A railroad track fastener assembly consisting of a spring plate and a resilient seat for a railroad rail comprising a pad of resilient material positioned between the rail base and the base of a spring plate. The spring plate may be bolted to any type of cross tie or foundation of concrete, steel, or wood. The pad of resilient material is formed with a plurality of spaced vertical holes and is either bonded to the base of the spring plate and is freely positioned within the spring plate. The pad is retained within the spring plate by spring shoulder clips that are secured to the spring plate shoulders resiliently checking the upward motion of the rail under a heavy load. Guard rails and braces are provided for maintaining the wheels of rolling stock on the rails while rounding curves. Accordingly, the rail seat assembly of the subject invention is in effect a railroad track direct fixation spring plate fastener which is operative to achieve noise and vibration attenuation; resistance to rail wave action stress and tie twisting, and is also adaptable for variation in the gage of the rails.
