    摘要: Apparatus for protecting submerged equipment from biogrowth. In one embodiment, a submerged, underwater ultrasonic transducer assembly is enclosed in an isolation chamber that contains a zone that is free of bio organisms. The isolating chamber encloses the transducer assembly to provide an outer surface exposed to the body of water where that outer surface is distanced sufficiently from the transducer assembly to ensure algae is inhibited from growing on the outer surface. The isolating chamber is a water-tight enclosure filled with a liquid. In another embodiment, the transducer assembly is surrounded by a light array that directs illumination toward the assembly. The illumination is at a wavelength that inhibits biogrowth. The light array includes a plurality of light strips with spaced apart lights. The light strips are supported by a bracket such that the transducer assembly is fully exposed to the illumination from the light strips.

    摘要: An apparatus and the associated method which includes means for controlling an invasive organism. The means including a trolling apparatus, for attachment to an associated vehicle. The trolling apparatus is pulled through a body of water in response to movement of the associated vehicle. The housing carries a plurality of UV-C light sources for producing UV-C light at a wavelength of substantially 254 nm, whereby invasive organisms proximate to light emanating from at least one of said UV-C light source whereby invasive organisms are exposed to UV-C light at a wavelength of substantially 254 nm resulting in controlling an invasive organism. Other embodiments, attract organisms such as mosquitos and then expose them to UV-C light. The invention facilitates reduced use of herbicide.

    摘要: A liquid delivery device for killing weeds. The liquid delivery device includes a main tube, a handle, and a pump housing that includes a pump chamber. A reservoir is disposed in the main tube, and a plunger is connected to the reservoir and positioned in the pump chamber. The plunger is operative to push a liquid contained in the pump chamber through a check valve and dispensing orifices when a user moves the reservoir with respect to the main tube and pump housing. The device also includes a spike extending from the pump housing and an annular stand-off surrounding the spike. The spike is adapted to disrupt the soil and damage the root structure of a target weed.
