摘要： An operable measuring attachment for a mixing appliance includes a mixing bowl defining a mixing interior, a housing having a protrusion attachable to the appliance and a plurality of containers each having an interior volume. Each container is alternatively operable between a measuring position engaged to a top of the housing, and a disengaged position distal from the housing. The operable measuring attachment also includes a magnetic coupler having a first magnetic member disposed proximate the base of each of the plurality of containers and a second magnetic member disposed proximate the top of the housing. The selective magnetic engagement of the first magnetic member of any one of the plurality of containers and the second magnetic members further defines the measuring position. A scale is disposed within the housing that is in communication with the interior volume of the container in the measuring position.

摘要： A pitcher for safely receiving, transporting and decanting a hot liquid includes a body with first and second openings, and a bottom cover removably attached to the body. An opening baffle near the first opening reduces the hot liquid flow rate through the first opening during decanting, and a funnel near the second opening directs the hot liquid through the second opening when receiving the hot liquid. The funnel directs the hot liquid from the second opening to the first opening opening if the hot liquid exits the second opening during decanting. The pitcher includes an elongated handle, a fin for dividing the hot liquid during decanting, and a scalloped outer sidewall for limiting contact with a user's hand.

A blender jar includes a base portion and a receptacle portion, and is configured to be laterally received within the jar receiving area of the housing. A magnetic coupling system includes an upper magnetic coupler disposed in the base portion of the blender jar and a lower magnetic coupler disposed in the support base of the housing. The upper and lower magnetic couplers are magnetically coupled to one another for driving a blade assembly disposed in the receptacle portion of the blender jar. A brake mechanism is disposed on the upper magnetic coupler and is configured to stop rotation of the upper magnetic coupler when the blender jar is removed from the jar receiving area.

The method includes adding liquid to the space in the container holder, heating the liquid in the container holder by using a microwave, removing the lid from the container, pouring the liquid from the container holder into the container and placing the container in the space of the container holder.

摘要： The disclosure provides a volumetric measurement device that includes of a vessel into which contents to be measured are placed. The device has a target operational range of measurement volumes. The shape of the vessel has the property that the ratio of the surface area of contents in the vessel to the volume of those contents is constant across the operational range. For any source of error in the estimation of vertical height of contents, the constant ratio of surface area to volume prevents the error from having a larger negative impact on overall measurement error as the volume being measured decreases. In other words, the vessel is just at good at measuring small volumes of contents as large volumes of contents.

The external size and configuration of the container is designed to fit within a carrier in a single (or multi-) serve beverage making machine. The container is insertable in the carrier in the place of a beverage making pod, cup, cartridge or the like. Following placement of the container in the carrier, the beverage making machine may be operated to perform a regular brew cycle or a specialized cleaning cycle in which water is introduced to the internal volume of the container and cleaning solution is released from the container, optionally under pressure, to contact and clean internal surfaces of the container carrier.

In another aspect, a method for preparing a temperature sensitive beverage fills a flask up to a volume shown by one or more indicia, heats the liquid in the flask, and combines the heated liquid with unheated liquid to attain a beverage with a desired final volume and a desired final temperature.

A method of measuring and mixing liquids involves accurately measuring two or more volumes of liquid in the measuring cup, placing the measuring cup within the mixing cup, and subsequently shaking the combination to create a cocktail.
