摘要: A thermal device includes an inflatable non-perforated blanket, a conduit structure, and a recirculating assembly. The inflatable non-perforated blanket is configured to transport warm air internally. The conduit structure is configured to provide conduit to transport the warm air externally to the inflatable non-perforated blanket. The recirculating assembly is configured to inflate the inflatable non-perforated blanket with the warm air and: (1) to cause the warm air to flow from the first port to the second port in a first direction, and (2) to recirculate the warm air through the conduit structure to flow from the second port to the first port in the first direction. The inflatable non-perforated blanket includes first and second sheets. The first sheet faces ambient air and has a first thermal conductivity. The second sheet faces the subject body and has a second thermal conductivity higher than the first thermal conductivity.

摘要: Disclosed is a thermoregulation system, including an output port (54), an input port (62), a thermoregulation fluid supply system, an output pump (52) for pumping thermoregulation fluid out through the output port, an input pump (64) for pumping thermoregulation fluid in through the input port, and a pressure control system. The pressure control system is for selectively operating a pressurising element of a personal thermoregulation pack to apply a pressure independently of operation of the input (64) and output (52) pumps.

摘要: Method for treatment of a body of a mammal in cardiac arrest, comprising the step of performing a therapeutic hypothermia of the body after the cardiac arrest has occurred, said therapeutic hypothermia comprising: cooling the body to a target temperature during a cooling time period, said cooling being performed by total liquid ventilation which comprises alternately filling lungs of the body with a cooling liquid and removing from the lungs said cooling liquid, maintaining the body at the target temperature for a hypothermia duration.

摘要: A prosthetic socket system includes a socket having an inner surface defining a socket cavity. A liner is adapted to receive a residual limb and be removably positioned within the socket cavity. A substantially sealed volume is defined between at least a portion of an outer surface of the liner and a corresponding portion of the inner surface of the socket. A wicking material is positionable in the substantially sealed volume and at least one cooling fluid can be carried by the wicking material. The at least one cooling fluid is adapted to selectively boil within the substantially sealed volume such that heat from the residual limb is converted into latent heat of vaporization by the at least one cooling fluid for a cooling effect.
