    摘要： In an apparatus for treating vascular, metabolic and functional imbalance, and edema of a limb by variation in pressure of a high-density fluid around the limb, a fluid-tight flexible bag serves to protect the limb to be treated and a filling bag delimits a filling enclosure with the protective bag. The apparatus includes a pump for producing upward and downward displacement of the fluid within the enclosure between a bottom level, a top level and intermediate levels, a timing circuit for maintaining the fluid at predetermined levels during predetermined periods of time, and a programmable logic circuit for adjusting the levels of fluid within the enclosure. An electronic variator are employed for regulating the speeds of upward and/or downward displacement of the fluid within the enclosure in respect of different levels.

    摘要： The invention relates to a suit for problems associated with orthostasis which is comprised of a pair of trousers made of a slightly stretchable textile material. A plurality of essentially linear or wavy strips (14, 15) are inserted along the entire length of the trousers. Said strips are made of double-walled, liquid-tight, slightly stretchable textile material. The two layers of this material are connected to one another at connection points. This results in the production of cavities which are filled with a liquid. Suspenders (11) hold the trousers and are simultaneously constructed as reservoirs (12) for the liquid. In order to increase the pressure on the abdominal region, a flat bladder (13) can be placed in the trousers and, like the strips (14, 15), can be supplied with fluid from the reservoirs (12). As a result, liquid columns are produced which extend over a large portion of the body height. Said columns build up a compensating pressure on the legs and the lower abdomen. The trousers are closed by two lateral zip fasteners (21). The knees and genital region are covered by elastic inserts (16, 17). The strips (14, 15) are either essentially straight or wavy on both sides.

    摘要： A therapeutic device is provided for use in the treatment and/or rehabilitation of injuries to bodily extremities, such as the hands or feet. In the device a capsule or chamber is provided which is at least partially filled with a Newtonian or non-Newtonian liquid. An area approximating the shape of the extremity to under therapy, such as a hand, is formed and made an integral part of the capsule such that the extremity undergoing therapy may be inserted to move freely within the liquid physically coming into contact with the liquid. In one embodiment the capsule is molded from a single piece of transparent rubber with a fluid chamber formed at one end and a glove-like area formed at the other. The fluid chamber is filled with a liquid, such as medical grade silicone or organic polymer liquid, and then the glove-like area inverted to be located within the outer walls of the capsule. A user may then insert his or her hand into the chamber, by way of the glove, and undergo therapy or exercise within the environment of the liquid without actually coming into contact with the liquid. Variations of the invention permit the hand to be heated or cooled, either from within or radiantly. In addition, by making all materials transparent or translucent, it is possible for the patient or therapist to observe the hand undergoing therapy, thereby ensuring maximum effect without introducing the danger or causing additional damage.
