Abstract:
In one embodiment, a gait-altering shoe includes a frame adapted to support a user's foot and at least one wheel that supports the frame above a walking surface, the wheel having a radius that varies as a function of angular position of the wheel.
Abstract:
In combination, vertically percussive vibration and non-symmetrical forces are applied to a patient. The non-symmetrical forces may be generated by a variety of unevenly applied weights that are supported at appropriate body locations in a manner that upsets normal body load symmetry. The non-symmetrical forces in combination with vertically percussive vibrations induce neuromusculoskeletal proprioceptive re-education and development within a living body to correct musculo-skeletal disorders including but not limited to scoliosis. A special posture modifying chair and head-orienting glasses may be used instead of or in addition to unevenly applied weights. An additional force concentrating treatment apparatus is also presented.

Abstract:
A neck and shoulder massaging mechanism includes a housing, a neck massaging assembly, a shoulder massaging assembly, an eccentric assembly, a connection assembly, and a rotating shaft. The eccentric assembly is disposed on the rotating shaft. The eccentric assembly is linked to the neck massaging assembly to perform an eccentric oscillating movement. The connection assembly includes a first spherical cavity, a ball connecting rod, and a second spherical cavity. Spherical members at two ends of the ball connecting rod are accommodated within the first spherical cavity and the second spherical cavity, respectively. The neck and shoulder massaging mechanism has characteristics of a simple structure and large eccentric oscillating amplitude.
Abstract:
A skin treatment device comprising a skin polishing head to remove skin from a treatment area, a collection bin disposed within the housing and positioned to collect the skin removed by skin polishing head, a conduit disposed adjacent to the skin polishing head and the housing, the conduit being in fluid communication with the collection bin, and a drive mechanism coupled to the skin polishing head, rotation of the drive mechanism simultaneously driving the skin polishing head and creating suction to urge skin removed by the skin polishing head through the conduit and into the collection bin.
Abstract:
A breast massage device includes a main body; a drive unit installed within the main body; and a massage disk mounted on the main body and coupled with the drive unit so as to be driven rotatably thereby. The massage disk has a central axis, a concave surface for covering a breast, and a periphery confining the concave surface, wherein the periphery has a highest point and a lowest point located at two opposite sides of the central axis such that a portion of the concave surface extending from the highest point toward the central axis is longer in curved distance than another portion of the concave surface extending from the lowest point to the central axis. A plurality of massage elements are mounted rotatably on the concave surface such that the massage elements are rotatable relative to the concave surface when the drive unit is activated.
Abstract:
Methods of driving a massage chair are described for dispensing effective massage to reduce stress and relieve pain in an effective manner. The massage chair includes a backrest, a seat, two massage arms assembled with the backrest and having at least two contact members, a plurality of bottom airbags disposed in the seat, and a plurality of lateral airbags disposed at a left and a right side of the seat. The method includes defining a coordinate reference including a lengthwise axis extending along a length of the backrest, a transversal axis extending from a left toward a right side of the backrest, and a front-rear axis extending from a front toward a rear of the backrest, and driving the massage arms to perform certain sequences of massage actions to provide relief in the neck and shoulder areas, the lower back, and thigh and hip.
Abstract:
There is provided a massage apparatus capable of providing optimum massage effects even with variations in thickness of to-be-treated area such as a lower leg from user to user. The massage apparatus 1 includes a massage section 7 having a stationary massage member 15 and a movable massage member 16, a rotary shaft 9, 10 disposed so as to pass through the base end of the movable massage member 16, a driving section 11 for rotatably driving the rotary shaft 9, 10, a pair of right-hand and left-hand changer sections 12, 13 for changing a rotational force of the rotary shaft 9, 19 into an action of movement of the movable massage member 16 toward and away from the stationary massage member 15; and a breadth adjustment mechanism 14 capable of positioning movement of the stationary massage member 15 in directions toward and away from the movable massage member 16.
Abstract:
Disclosed are neuromuscular release (including myofascial trigger point) therapy devices, systems, kits and methods. The therapy tool comprises a body, wherein the body includes an outer surface, an inner surface, a tip defined at the upper-most portion of the body, a base, a stop surface defined in the body outer surface, a pocket defined by the inner surface and extending from the base upwards in the direction of the tip, and a recessed groove defined in the inner surface and extending upwards from the base and having a groove diameter and depth. The body can be generally bell-shaped with the base having a larger diameter than the tip. The system can further include a riser, either disk or wedge shaped, and a rocker base. The system components are configured to stack and nest into a compact assembly for easy carrying as a kit.
Abstract:
A breast massage device includes a main body; a drive unit installed within the main body; and a massage disk mounted on the main body and electrically coupled with the drive unit so as to be driven rotatably thereby, the massage disk having an external surface that is used for covering a breast and that is contoured to possess at least two arcuated areas extending in an asymmetric inclination manner relative to each other, and a plurality of massage elements mounted rotatably on the arcuated areas such that the massage elements are rotatable relative to the external surface upon activation of the drive unit.
