    摘要: A fluid transfer device such as a syringe may include a fluid chamber in communication with a male connector tip. The male connector tip is tapered to form a friction fit when inserted in a corresponding female hub. A disconnecting member, e.g., in the form of a lever member has a front surface moveable along the male connector tip between a first position proximal to the fluid chamber and a second position spaced from the first position towards a distal end of the male connector tip so as to release the friction fit. A catch is arranged to catch the female hub after it has been released from the friction fit by the lever member moving towards the second position. The catch may be released when the lever member pivots back towards the first position under the resilient bias of a spring tongue.

A post (121) is connected to the hub body (113). A needle (103) is rigidly fixed to the post (121). The post (121) is separable from the hub body (113) such that the needle (103) is removed with the post (121). The fluid path is not disturbed by such removal because the entire needle (103) is removed with the post (121). Removal of only the post (121) and needle (103) reduces the volume of waste required for disposal, thereby increasing the effective capacity of a sharps container.

    摘要: The syringe includes a cylindrical barrel, a plunger in part disposed within the barrel and an elongated end cannula extending from the distal end of the barrel and formed integrally with the barrel of a single unitary plastic material. The plunger includes a distal end portion within the barrel having surfaces cooperable with surfaces along the interior of the barrel and enabling separation of the plunger end from remaining portions of the plunger in response to relative rotation of the plunger and barrel. A collar may be disposed about the cannula to seal with the lip of a medication vial. A clip is engageable within the plunger and barrel to fix the axial location of the plunger relative to the barrel at selected locations therealong.

Multiple pyramidal blocks extended from the outer periphery of the hub facing outward to the barrel. Multiple triangular cutouts with V-shape groove edge defined in the inner periphery of the barrel respectively correspond to one of the multiple pyramidal blocks.

    摘要: A hypodermic syringe having a needle which folds back into a longitudinally extending channel formed on the side of the barrel of the syringe after use. A disinfectant pad may be mounted in the channel for sterilizing the needle, and lugs are provided for retaining the needle in the channel. During use, the needle is mounted to the lower end of the syringe by a supporting boss. This boss may be provided with a relatively weaker portion so that it snaps off from the barrel of the syringe in response to lateral pressure. Alternatively, there is a releasable catch which holds the boss in abutment with the end of the barrel. After the boss is separated from the end of the barrel, a pivot hinge which is mounted to the boss permits it to be folded into the protective channel.
