摘要： An assembly comprises:(a) a track positioned at least part way around the perimeter of the predetermined area and having first and second ends and first and second generally parallel opposed faces extending between said first and second ends, said first opposed face having a longitudinally extending opening;(b) a panel positioned at an intermediate point between said opposed faces and generally parallel with said opposed faces, said panel having first and second ends and extending part way between said first and second ends so as to define a first channel adjacent said first opposed face and a second channel adjacent said second opposed face;(c) a flexible carrier having first and second ends, said first end of said carrier being secured to said second opposed face of said track near said first end of said panel, said second end of said carrier being moveable within said track from a position adjacent said first end of said track to a position adjacent said second end of said track;(d) a manifold positioned at said second end of said carrier and having a nozzle extending through said opening;(e) a first hose moveable with said carrier and having a first end and a second end, said first end of said hose being positioned adjacent said first end of said carrier and in flow communication with a fluid source exterior to the predetermined area, said second end of said hose being in flow communication with said manifold; and,(f) a second hose having a first end and a second end, said first end of said second hose in flow communication with said nozzle and said second end adapted for flow connection with a paint spray gun.

摘要： A continuous spray coating apparatus and process generally comprises a housing defining a closed coating chamber, the coating chamber having inlet and outlet openings. Automatic doors are provided to cover the inlet and outlet openings, and the opening and closing of the doors is selectively controlled such that only one of the doors will be open at any one time during the spray coating operation. The introduction of the coating composition into the chamber creates a predetermined atmosphere within the chamber which is substantially saturated with constituents of the coating material, and by means of the automatic doors and control thereof, introduction of air from the outside atmosphere into the chamber is substantially prevented to maintain a predetermined atmosphere within the chamber. The apparatus and method may also monitor the level of excess coating material within a reservoir formed in the bottom of the chamber, and actuate a coating material recirculation system which will return excess coating material to an external supply for reuse without exposure to the atmosphere outside the coating chamber. The process and apparatus provides improved coating of articles with less waste.

摘要： A conveyor extends into a spray station from an exterior loading station. At least one fixture for supporting a mask and work pieces is engageable with the conveyor for movement into the spray station. The conveyor preferably continues the movement on through the spray station, and out the opposite side, so that the enclosure forming the spray station can be shorter than the length of the fixture assembly in the direction of movement of the conveyor. Space under one side of the conveyor is utilized for mask-washing equipment. Lateral transfer means, together with an elevator system, moves the work support and mask from the conveyor to and through the washing station. A program controller determines the painting cycle according to easily preset adjustments, and spray gun assemblies can be lifted out and installed as a unit for each job set-up. A down-draft ventilation system in the work station accommodates the wide range of painting conditions the machine is capable of handling.

[Also in Division F4] A plant for spray painting objects intermittently or continuously conveyed through the plant includes a drip separator in which cleaning liquid after mixing with ventilating air is separated together with accompanying paint particles by flow along thebottom of the separator which extends for the purpose at an inclination the whole length of the plant whence the liquid passes to a paint separation tank which extends in the opposite direction towards the other end of the plant for recirculation of the cleaned liquid, an endless conveyer dipping into the tank for removal of the paint particles. As shown, a closed channel I is supplied with ventilating air through apertures 4 and 5. The channel has a V-shaped bottom 6 terminating in an opening 7 for discharging ventilating air to a drip separator 8 from which the air is discharged by suction means. Cleaning liquid is supplied through pipes 10 to channels 11 and from there sweeps over the walls of the V- shaped bottom 6 in the form of a covering liquid film. The liquid is then conveyed along channels 13 towards one end 14 of the plant, where the channels 13 have an outlet 15 to a liquid cleaning tank 16 directly beneath the drip separator. The liquid in the tank flows back toward the other end of the tank where an endless conveyer 19 projects downwards into the tank to take up paint particles carried along by the liquid.
