Abstract: An interval control valve actuator includes an electrohydraulic pressure generator and an actuation pressure line extending between the generator and a valve. A hydraulic junction disposed in the actuation pressure line is selectively hydraulically joins the actuation pressure line to a backup pressure line. An interval control valve including a housing, a valve disposed in the housing, an electrohydraulic actuator hydraulically connected to the valve by an actuation pressure line. A hydraulic junction disposed between the electrohydraulic actuator and the valve and a backup pressure line hydraulically connected to the hydraulic junction, the backup pressure line being selectively hydraulically connectable to the actuation pressure line.

Abstract: In an exemplary method of monitoring performance of a fluid driven actuator for a valve, pressurized fluid is supplied through an actuator supply line to an inlet port of the actuator during a first time period to operate the actuator from a normal position to an actuated position. Pressure changes corresponding to a fluid flow condition in the actuator supply line are measured during the first time period, with the measured pressure changes defining a valve cycle pressure profile including a first inflection point corresponding to movement of the actuator from the normal position to the actuated position. The valve cycle pressure profile is analyzed to identify a non-compliant condition in at least one of the valve and the actuator. An output communicating the identified non-compliant condition is then generated.

Abstract: A petroleum pipeline safety system for preventing contamination of an environmentally sensitive area close to a pipeline is provided. The system includes a first portion of the pipeline including an upstream portion of the pipeline supplying a flow of fluid material and a flow restriction downstream of the first portion of the pipeline. The system further includes a second portion of the pipeline downstream of the flow restriction, receiving the flow of fluid material from the first portion and conveying the flow of fluid material through the environmentally sensitive area to a downstream portion of the pipeline. The flow restriction is configured to create a lower pipeline internal pressure within the second portion as compared to a pipeline internal pressure within the first portion. The system further includes a third portion of the pipeline downstream of the environmentally sensitive area and including the downstream portion of the pipeline.

Abstract: A priming valve includes a fluid flow path, a fluid inlet configured to couple to a fluid outlet of a fluid channel including at least one sensor configured to characterize at least one attribute of a fluid, a fluid outlet, a valve seat, and a connector. The connector engages the valve seat to prevent fluid flow via the fluid flow path. The connector is configured to move relative to the valve seat in response to a threshold pressure within the fluid flow path to allow the fluid to flow via the fluid flow path. A flow sensor sub-assembly for sensing flow of a fluidic medicament may include a priming valve and at least one sensor of a fluid port configured to characterize at least one attribute of a fluid within an administrable fluid source. A method for readying a fluid sensor may use a priming valve.

Abstract: Method for diagnosing a pneumatic control valve by using a positioner model includes: establishing relational expression for outputting valve stem displacement according to control pressure, the relational expression including parameters for the characteristics of a positioner, an actuator, and a valve, determining initial parameter value by adjusting the values of the parameters until the difference between a measured value for a normal operation of the pneumatic control valve and output value obtained by the relational expression is smaller than predetermined error limit, determining diagnostic parameter value by adjusting the values of the parameters until the difference between a measured value for a diagnostic operation of the pneumatic control valve and an output value obtained by the relational expression is smaller than a predetermined error limit, and comparing the initial parameter value and the diagnostic parameter value so as to determine whether the pneumatic control valve has abnormality.

Abstract: The present invention is a plasma processing apparatus that includes a processing chamber where plasma processing is performed on a sample, a radio frequency power supply that supplies radio frequency power to generate plasma, a sample stage on which the sample is placed, and a gas supply unit that supplies a gas to the processing chamber. The gas supply unit includes a first pipe that supplies a first gas as a gas for etching process to the processing chamber, a second pipe that supplies a second gas as a gas for etching process to the processing chamber, and a third pipe through which a third gas as a gas for deposition process flows. The third pipe is coupled to the second pipe. A fourth valve is arranged on the second pipe. The fourth valve prevents the third gas from flowing in a direction toward a supply source of the second gas.

Abstract: A valve assembly includes a valve, an actuator for opening and closing the valve, and a positioner for controlling the actuator. At least one limit switch assembly is mounted between the positioner and the actuator. The limit switch assembly connects the actuator and positioner so that movement of the actuator valve is conveyed to the positioner through the limit switch assembly. The limit switch assembly is configured to provide a limit signal when the valve is in one or more limit positions. The limit switch assembly has a calibration mechanism for adjusting the one or more limit positions using an input member accessible from outside of the limit switch housing when the limit switch is installed in the valve assembly.
