Heated air is up drafted through the bottom of the first zone, where the heated air flows from the bottom through the conveyor belt, through the fiberglass media, through the tensioned compression chain, and out the exhaust stack of the first zone. The first zone establishes fiberglass loft, with the second zone providing cure of the fiberglass.

When a remainder of the binder remains uncured, another stage of heating the binder with a ratio of heated gas followed by cooling, will cure the remainder of the binder.

A process for forming fibers, films and fibrous webs from thermoset polymers is disclosed. The process includes first forming an energy activatable prepolymer composition. The prepolymer composition is extruded through a die in order to form polymeric articles. Once extruded through the die, the prepolymer composition is then contacted with an energy source which causes the prepolymer composition to irreversibly undergo a chemical transformation to form a thermoset polymer. The cured polymeric articles can then be collected onto a surface and used as desired. The energy source used to activate the prepolymer composition can be, for instance, a heated gas stream, ultra sonic sound waves, or a radiation source.

A method is shown for forming a wiper blade in which a continuous length of elastomer is extruded through a die having a die opening shaped to produce a pair of wiper blades joined in edge-to-edge relation. The elastomer is preformed to produce a weakened mid- section and then cured. The cured elastomer is then separated into two separate lengths of wiper blade by pulling the length of continuous elastomer along the weakened mid-section.
