Abstract:
An injection device (2) of an injection molding machine (1) includes a heating cylinder (18) having a gas introduction port (30) and a screw (19), and a gas supply device (5) is connected to the gas introduction port (30). The gas supply device (5) includes a gas supply source (33) and a gas pressure regulating unit (34). The gas pressure regulating unit (34) regulates a gas pressure and supplies the gas when a gas from the gas supply source (33) is introduced into the gas introduction port (30). Specifically, the gas pressure is caused to change in a molding cycle and is increased to a high pressure in a metering process (61). That is, a pressure increasing period (71) in which the gas pressure increases at least partially overlaps with the metering process (61).
Abstract:
An apparatus is disclosed for injecting an expandable or foaming material in a closed sectional structure of a body. The apparatus is suitable for mass-producing vehicles, such as automobiles efficiently. This apparatus is provided with a manipulator (38) movable to a desired position, a injector (50) fixed to the manipulator, a device (56) for supplying the expandable or foaming material to the injector, and a controller (40) adapted to control the position of the manipulator (10) so that the injector is set in a position in which the foaming material can be supplied to the closed sectional structure of the vehicle body through an injection port of the same closed sectional structure, and also adapted to control the supply device so that the foaming material can be injected and filled in the closed sectional structure thereof by only such an amount that was set in accordance with the volume of the inside of the sectional structure.
Abstract:
A process for producing cork lines which comprises holding a leader or lers with a pair of metal molds having at the junctional surfaces thereof one or more cavities for forming a float or floats and one or more furrows formed so as to pass through said cavity or cavities for holding said leader or leaders, injecting a molten synthetic resin mixed witha foaming agent into said cavity or cavities to effect molding and foaming of said resin, cooling said metal molds and taking out a flat or floats integrally fixed to said leader or leaders from said metal molds. An apparatus for producing cork lines which comprises an injection molding machine having a pair of metal molds with a cavity or cavities to form a float or floats and with furrows formed so as to pass through said cavity or cavities for holding a leader or leaders on the junctional surfaces of sid metal molds, a device for maintaining said leader or leaders in stretched state between said metal molds and a device for intermittently conveying said leader or leaders in stretched state for a given distance in the longitudinal direction. A cork line thus produced can be used in various fields of industry, especially for fisheries.
Abstract:
A mold is filled by low pressure injection molding with a mixture of gas and molten plastic, and the control of the quantity of the mixture sent into the mold is responsive to the filling of the mold instead of being responsive to the volume of an accumulating zone in the molding apparatus. At a plurality of positions in the mold, sensors detect the arrival of the hot plastic and as soon as the plastic has arrived at each of the sensors, a signal cuts off the flow of plastic from the large conduits into the mold.
Abstract:
A device for manufacturing foam cushions in particular for packaging purposes, said device comprising a foil supply station and a foam dispensing station, said foil supply station being provided for supplying to said foam dispensing station a foil material, having a first and a second side wall joining each other at a common first border and positioned so as to delimit an inner space accessible by an opening applied in a second border, said foam dispensing station comprising first retaining means, provided for retaining said second border, said foam dispensing station further comprising a dispensing member, provided for penetrating through said opening and supplying a foaming substance into said inner space, said device further comprising transport means, provided for transporting said foil material through said dispensing station towards a welding station, said foam dispensing station further comprises slot shaping means mounted offset and downwards from said first retaining means in such a manner as to form a slot to be crossed by an upper stroke of said foil material, said dispensing member being oriented with respect to said slot shaping means when applied into said opening, in such a manner, as to output said foaming substance towards an upper surface of said slot shaping means.
Abstract:
A mold apparatus useful for making molded foam articles has a pair of independently operated mold modules, both fed by a single hot melt injection unit. In a preferred, but not necessary, embodiment, each of the opposed mold portions of each mold module is retained in its respective closed position by a simple mechanical latch. In such a preferred embodiment, it is further preferred that, in the closed position, the two mold portions of each mold module are separated by a narrow air gap to allow air to escape from each mold module during operation.

Abstract:
AN APPARATUS FOR CLOSING THE GATE OF A MOLD USED IN FOAM MOLDING. THE APPARATUS COMPRISES A PAIR OF OPPOSED CLOSURE MEMBERS LOCATED ON OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE GATE. THE CLOSURE MEMBERS ARE NORMALLY DISPOSED IN A CLOSED POSITION AND ARE MOVABLE TO AN OPEN POSITION RESPONSIVE TO THE INSERTION OF AN EXTRUSION LANCE THROUGH THE GATE.
Abstract:
SMOOTH-SURFACE, FOAMED PLASTIC ARTICLES ARE MADE BY CHARGING A FOAM MELT INTO A MOLD BETWEEN RESTRAINING ELASTIC SHEETS AND THEN RELEASING THE RESTRAINING FORCE TO ALLOW THE CHARGE TO EXPAND TO THE MOLD WALLS.
