    摘要: A pouch for holding fluids is provided. The pouch includes a pouch body having a front panel and a back panel. The front panel is formed of a transparent material and includes a second indicia visible from the front of the pouch. The back panel includes a third indicia visible from the back of the pouch. The back panel includes a first indicia disposed one of the layers of the back panel and configured to be visible when the pouch is viewed from the front so as to block out the third indicia from view. A method of manufacturing a pouch is also provided. The method is directed towards facilitating the alignment of a graphical image on one side of the back panel with a graphical image on another side of the back panels in instances where the back panel is formed of multiple layers.

    摘要: An as-manufactured multi-wall sack that comprises an inner pouch 5 and an outer bag 7 is disclosed. The sack has a top end that (a) is open in the as-manufactured form of the sack so that the sack can be filled with product via the open end and (b) is formed so that it can be closed to form a top block end. The as-manufactured form of the sack comprises pressure adhesive that connects together the inner pouch and the outer bag at the open top end of the sack. The as-manufactured form of the sack also comprises heat-activated adhesive on sections of the outer bag that adhere to other sections of the outer bag as part of the sequence of steps to close the outer bag. An apparatus and a method for closing the as-manufactured sack are also disclosed.

    摘要: An energy efficient method and apparatus for manufacturing a biodegradable, compostable, liquid-impermeable lined paper bag for containing wet (i.e. food) wastes by which all adhesives used in the process are cold glues applied without using heat and are applied through an extrusion and/or metering application means. Cellulose film is advantageously used for the paper liner and a dot matrix configuration of adhesive is applied between the cellulose and paper layers to laminate them together. The matrix-defined size of spacings between the points of application of adhesive on the cellulose film is such that both loss of the permeability of the cellulose film to water vapour and oxygen and creation of stress points on the cellulose film are minimized. A second cold glue is applied to the bag bottom section by a matrix of extrusion adhesive guns and programmable controller for activating the guns whereby the guns are activated according to a program of the controller for applying the second adhesive to pre-determined, programmable areas of the bag bottom section.

One method includes the following steps: (a) forming a web of bag making material into a tube; (b) joining respective confronting portions of the tube along a transverse line to form a first transverse zone of joinder having a length approximately equal to one half of a perimeter of the tube; (c) forming mutually opposing first and second gussets in the tube, the first and second gussets being separated from each other in the transverse direction by a minimum distance at a predetermined distance from the first transverse zone of joinder, (d) placing product in a portion of an interior volume of the tube disposed above the first transverse zone of joinder; (e) joining confronting portions of the tube along a transverse line to form a second transverse zone of joinder that fixes portions of the first and second gussets that are separated by the minimum distance; (f) cutting the web along a first transverse cut line located below the first transverse zone of joinder; and (g) cutting the web along a second transverse cut line located above the second transverse zone of joinder, the second transverse cut line intersecting the portions of the first and second gussets that are separated by the minimum distance.
