摘要： An apparatus for processing baglike container blanks by fitting the blank around a pair of forming plates arranged at a distance from each other in parallel, folding a pair of triangular ears flat while projecting the ears sidewise from the portion of the blank to be made into the bottom of a finished rectangular parallelepipidal container, and press-bonding the projected ears to outer surface portions of the trunk of the container at the lateral sides thereof after folding the ears over the outer surface portions. The apparatus includes a device for press-bonding the triangular ears, which comprises a pair of press members and a support member positionable therebetween. Each lateral side trunk portion and each ear folded thereover are clamped between the support member and the press member respectively from inside and outside the blank.

摘要： Flat bottom bags are formed from a supply of substantially endless plastic tubing, gusseted along two sides to form a flat reel. A sleeve of predetermined length is withdrawn from the reel and allowed to hang along a vertical plane between two foraminous plenum chambers which are then moved toward each other to squeeze the length therebetween. Simultaneously a sealing and shearing mechanism forms a transverse seal and cuts the sleeve length from the reel, the gussets being at the same time sealed in the seam. The plenum chambers are then subject to vacuum and are moved apart, causing the sides of the now formed bag to separate opening the same. Upon opening of the bag, a forming mandrel is inserted therein and moved through the length of the bag until it reaches the sealed end. Simultaneously a presser member is moved across the outside surface of the bag folding over the seam, and pressing the gusset portions into flat flaps and in addition forming simultaneously the flat bottom to the bag. The mandrel or the presser plate is provided with heat sealing means sealing the flaps to the sleeve sides.

摘要： A bag structure of a thermoplastic film material comprising front and rear bag walls connected by side walls and having an open mouth top portion, said open mouth portion being characterized by having handles located at opposite end regions thereof, said handles being of two films as a result of being integral extensions of said front rear and gusseted side walls, said bag having a bottom wall planarly extensible so as to form a rectangle with at least no substantial excess film outside of the bulk volumetric capacity of said bottom region of said bag. This invention also provides a method and system for preparing flat bottom thermoplastic sacks comprising process steps and means for forming a tube of thermoplastic film, collapsing said tube while forming two oppositely disposed gussets therein, forming two pairs of diagonal sealed seams in the gussets, forming a transverse sealed seam across the tube along a line which includes the inboard ends of the diagonal seams and forming pre-weakened transverse lines closely adjacent to said transverse sealed seam or forming a severing line along this line, removing the four double triangular regions bounded by the diagonal seams, the transverse seams and the side edges of the tube and collecting the resulting structures either while still interconnected or by stacking the severed sacks. The final structure can have handles or it can be handleless.

摘要： Apparatus and process for continuously and repetitively producing grocery sacks from a thermoplastic web at high speed, including particularly a folding operation involving applying grasping action to bag blanks formed from a heat sealed gusseted flattened tubular web of, e.g., high density polyethylene at the upper and lower portions thereof, respectively, causing said portions to be forwarded at differential longitudinal speeds whereby a rough folded bag bottom is formed. Preferably, the web is flexed as by introduction of air to the bag blank or sack to release the respective web faces and facilitate folding. A complete apparatus includes sealing, cutting, folding and pressing means and may incorporate printing and like ancillary features.

This second transverse score line is scored in a second direction, extending substantially from the back panel towards the front panel of the container apparatus. This congruence of the first and second transverse score lines serves to facilitate deployment of the container apparatus from its substantially flat, collapsed configuration to its substantially rectangular-bottomed configuration.
