摘要: Tires in use wear in a host of ways. One negative manner in which tires, especially truck tires, may wear is in an irregular fashion. When this phenomenon happens, the tread of the tire may become unusable, forcing the user to replace the tire, which is undesirable. This patent application poses a new and useful way of preventing irregular wear involving the use of hidden sipes or tread blocks. In some embodiments, these hidden sipes or tread blocks are found in tread blocks or ribs adjacent other tread blocks or ribs that have been determined to be susceptible to irregular wear. In other embodiments, the hidden sipes or tread blocks are formed by a sipe blade that has a connecting member to which two y-branched members are attached, and further comprising dividing members that connect between the y-branched members.

摘要: A heavy duty tire comprising: a shoulder rib (A1) (shoulder rib (A5)) which is provided to a tread shoulder unit; a second rib (A2) (second rib (A4)) which is adjacent to the shoulder rib (A1) with a circumferential groove (110) (circumferential groove (116)) interposed therebetween and is provided further toward the tire equator side than the shoulder rib (A1); and an uneven wear absorbing rib (B1) (uneven wear absorbing rib (B2)) provided within the circumferential groove (110) and located further toward the inside in the tire radial direction than the tread surfaces of the shoulder rib (A1) and of the second rib (A2). Circumferential narrow grooves (10, 12) having a smaller width than the circumferential grooves (110, 116) are formed in the second ribs (A2, A4). Each circumferential narrow groove (10, 12) is formed in such a manner that, when the tire is mounted on the vehicle, the circumferential groove (10, 12) is located on the outer side of the tire with reference to the center of the second rib (A2, A4) in the tread width direction.

摘要: A tread (12) for a heavy truck tire is provided that has a bottom surface (14), a shoulder rib (16), and a sacrificial rib (20) located outboard from the shoulder rib (16) in a width direction. A decoupling void (30) is located between the shoulder rib (16) and the sacrificial rib (20). A decoupling void sipe (32) is in the shoulder rib (16) and opens at the shoulder rib upper surface (18) and at the decoupling void (30). The decoupling void sipe (32) extends in the thickness direction and is closer to the bottom surface (14) than the decoupling void (30) in the thickness direction.

The inner groove wall 62u includes an inner recess portion 64 recessed inward in the axial direction, on a groove bottom side. The outer groove wall 62s includes an outer recess portion 66 recessed outward in the axial direction, on the groove bottom side.

A decoupling void (30) is located between the shoulder rib (16) and the sacrificial rib (20). First decoupling void sipes (32), second decoupling void sipes (100) and third decoupling void sipes (104) are in the shoulder rib (16), and one second decoupling void sipe (100) is between one first decoupling void sipe (32) and one third decoupling void sipe (104). The first and third decoupling void sipes (32, 104) are closer to the bottom surface (14) than is the decoupling void (30) in the thickness direction. The second decoupling void sipe (100) is not closer to the bottom surface (14) than is the decoupling void (30) to the bottom surface (14) in the thickness direction.
