The cross-sectional shape of the profiled bar (1) can be the same over the entire length of the profiled bar, whereas the cross-sectional shape in the spring body (20) can vary over the length of the spring body.

Automotive leaf springs are produced from low-hardenability and specified hardenability steel, with identical and different length, width and thickness and constant or variable cross section profile, that are subjected to through-surface hardening and low tempering. The ideal critical diameter of hardening, carbon content and hardened layer depth depend on the thickness of constant cross section profile leaf and maximum and minimum thicknesses of variable cross section profile leafs. Adherence to the optimum correlations of parameters indicated make it possible to produce leaf springs with the highest mechanical properties and longevity.

The device includes a gate 4 for introducing a matrix material into the mold cavity 5, and flow ducts which convey the matrix material are provided on the inner walls of the mold cavity. A method for manufacturing elongate fiber-composite components is disclosed, wherein a stack of a plurality of cut-to-size fiber layers is laid up in the mold cavity of a die comprising an upper die and a lower die. A higher fiber density is produced in the end regions of the stack of fiber layers than in the remaining regions when closing the die.

The assembly includes a mounting pad, and a longitudinally extending energy storing suspension component such as a leaf spring is vertically aligned with respect to the mounting pad. An axle seat bracket is vertically aligned with and spaced from the mounting pad. The axle is transversely mounted to the axle seat bracket which includes at least one horizontally aligned open passage that is aligned parallel to the axle and which receives a U-shaped fastener assembly for coupling the axle and axle seat bracket to the mounting pad.
