    摘要: The invention relates to a method for seismic survey by autonomous seismic nodes (1) at a sea floor (2), comprising: —attaching the seismic nodes (1) to a rope (3); —loading the rope (3) with the seismic nodes into a node deployer (4); —lowering the node deployer (4) into the sea (5); —towing the node deployer (4) above the sea floor (2); —deploying the rope (3) with the seismic nodes (1) at the sea floor (2); —collecting seismic data by the seismic nodes (1); —retrieving the rope (3) with the seismic nodes (1) from the sea floor (2), and —unloading seismic data from the seismic nodes (1). The invention also relates to a node deployer (4) for deploying a rope (3) with seismic nodes (1) at the sea floor (2), comprising a magazine (7) for the rope (3) with the seismic nodes (1).

    摘要: Apparatus and methods to operationally link (couple/decouple) a plurality of relatively massive, complimentary payload platforms (i.e., suspended machinery and ROV) at relatively deep working depths in an unstable marine environment (water column) while the payload platforms are in-transit. An apparatus includes a suspended machinery, an ROV, a capture collar, an extendable/retractable harpoon, and actuating machinery to controllably effect extension and retraction thereof. A method includes providing an in-transit suspended machinery having a capture collar, providing an in-transit ROV having an extendable/retractable harpoon, approaching the in-transit suspended machinery with the ROV, maneuvering the ROV so as to bring an end of the partially extended harpoon into aligned proximity with the capture collar, and further extending the harpoon so that it securely engages the capture collar.

    摘要: Diving apparatus which includes a bell assembly normally negatively buoyant and including a bell. There are frame means movable vertically beneath the sea surface. Such frame means are movable between an upper position and a lower position above the subsea surface and at which the frame means can be made temporarily stationary. Bell moving means are connected between the bell assembly and the frame means for moving the bell between a lower position adjacent the subsea surface and an upper position adjacent the frame means.

    摘要: A clamp engages an object such as a pipe at an undersea location and the clamp is connected by a wire to a surface station. At the upper end of the clamp is a mechanism for operating the clamp and this mechanism is provided with a seat for receiving a clamp arm of a manned submergible chamber. The manned submergible chamber grips the clamp mechanism and working in conjunction with the surface station closes the clamp on the pipe, and then after disengaging the work arm, the clamped pipe is brought to the surface station. The mechanism of this invention is particularly suited to offshore drilling operations as well as salvage operations. In another embodiment a hook is guided by the work arm to an object such as a pad eye and the hook engages the pad eye by the movement of the work arm. Once the pad eye is hooked the wire takes the hooked object to the surface.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for performing operations on equipment at an underwater area wherein a chamber is guidingly submerged, said chamber having a pair of guide gripping arms to slidably engage a respective pair of vertically disposed guides during submersion and grippingly engage the guide so as to reside at a desired depth, the chamber having a second pair of arms interconnected to the first pair and means to retractably, extensibly control the pairs of arms to provide horizontal movement to the chamber; and a manipulator arm assembly projecting outwardly from the chamber toward a portion of said equipment and having manipulator means at the outward end thereof adapted for engaging a portion of said equipment. The chamber may be provided with a life-supporting environment and the apparatus and method of this invention being operable from therewithin.
