摘要: A marine vessel is powered by a marine propulsion system and movable with respect to first, second, and third axes that are perpendicular to one another and define at least six degrees of freedom of potential vessel movement. A method for controlling a position of the marine vessel near a target location includes measuring a present location of the marine vessel, and based on the vessel's present location, determining if the marine vessel is within a predetermined range of the target location. The method includes determining marine vessel movements that are required to translate the marine vessel from the present location to the target location. In response to the marine vessel being within the predetermined range of the target location, the method includes automatically controlling the propulsion system to produce components of the required marine vessel movements one degree of freedom at a time during a given iteration of control.

A controller limits an inrush current into the first electric motor using a PWM control for a predetermined period of time from a starting time point of an input current into the first electric motor.

摘要: In an aspect, a processing apparatus receives detection signaling indicating a field incursion in a detection field of a LIDAR device mounted to a marine vessel and oriented to detect objects within a free space alongside the marine vessel. The processing apparatus applies plausibility testing to the field incursion, including determining whether parameters derived from the detection signaling are characteristic of a human body falling from the marine vessel through the detection field. The processing apparatus outputs signaling indicating a person overboard event to an alarm or control system onboard the marine vessel, in response to the field incursion passing the plausibility testing.

摘要: A catamaran oil production apparatus is disclosed for producing oil in a marine environment. The apparatus includes first and second vessels that are spaced apart during use. A first frame spans between the vessels. A second frame spans between the vessels. The frames are spaced apart and connected to the vessels in a configuration that spaces the vessels apart. The first frame connects to the first vessel with a universal joint and to the second vessel with a hinged connection. The second frame connects to the second vessel with a universal joint and to the first vessel with a hinged or pinned connection. At least one of the frames supports an oil production platform. One or more risers or riser pipes extends from the seabed (e.g., at a wellhead) to the production platform (or platforms). In one embodiment, the production apparatus includes crew quarters.

Embodiments of the present invention seek to utilize data captured during a trip to generate a trip replay experience that provides a re-creation experience for the viewer. In this regard, data from the systems and sensors of the marine vessel during the trip may be gathered and provided to a remote server. The data may be correlated as a function of time and intermingled to create a first-person type view from a “dashboard” to give the viewer a more realistic re-creation experience of the trip. Such a trip replay experience allows the operator, owner, or anyone else to relive a trip taken in the marine vessel.

摘要: Systems and methods disclosed herein control position of a trimmable drive unit with respect to a marine vessel. A controller determines a target trim position as a function of vessel or engine speed. An actual trim position is measured and compared to the target trim position. The controller sends a control signal to a trim actuator to trim the drive unit toward the target trim position if the actual trim position is not equal to the target trim position and if at least one of the following is true: a defined dwell time has elapsed since a previous control signal was sent to the trim actuator to trim the drive unit; a given number of previous control signals has not been exceeded in an attempt to achieve the target trim position; and a difference between the target trim position and the actual trim position is outside of a given deadband.
