    摘要： The invention relates to a tear-off lid made of metal sheet which has a central lid plane and, within that, a breakout portion, as well as a grip tab made of metal sheet that can be swiveled about a swivel axis extending at least approximately perpendicular to the lid plane and that has an opener portion on one side of the swivel axis and a grip portion on the opposing side of the swivel axis. The grip portion is shaped such that, upon opening the breakout portion, it can be swiveled over an opening created thereby and enclosed by an outer contour and can tightly seal the opening. The metal sheet that forms the grip portion has apertures, and an elastomer seal is provided on a bottom side of the grip portion facing toward the lid plane that is connected in a form-fitting manner to the grip portion and extends through the apertures.

    摘要： The invention provides a lid mechanism suitable for use with automated instrumentation. The lid mechanism has a compact design enabling it to function in very small spaces, and therefore on very compact instrumentation. One embodiment of the lid mechanism has a nut positioned around a jackscrew; a motor translationally attached to the nut for driving rotational motion of the nut around the jackscrew and vertical motion of the jackscrew; a main shaft positioned around the jackscrew with a bearing support positioned on the main shaft; a moving support comprising a bearing guide track and positioned on the main shaft so that the bearing support is positioned within the bearing guide track; and a lid plate positioned on the moving support so that vertical movement of the moving support causes vertical movement of the lid plate and rotational movement of the moving support causes rotational movement of the lid plate. Also provided is an automated laboratory instrument having a lid mechanism of the invention.

    摘要： A moist wipes dispenser has a top attached to a bottom along a hinge. The top is adapted to pivot about the hinge's axis of rotation. The top is adapted to assume a closed position and a dispensing position. In one embodiment, the top can assume a warning position adapted to warn a user that the top is not shut. The top is urged to the warning position if the top is angularly disposed in a red zone that extends between the closed position and the warning position. The warning position is angularly displaced from the closed position by at least five degrees. In another embodiment, the hinge includes a pin integrally molded with the top or bottom, and an open knuckle integrally molded with the other of the top and bottom. The hinge is adapted to urge the top into closed and dispensing positions in selected angular ranges.

    摘要： A lid device for use with a container includes a lid, a frame, and a two-axis pivot coupling connecting the lid to the frame. The frame is mounted to or otherwise connected to the container rim. The lid has a substantially flat and rigid work surface on which a workpiece can be placed. A user can pivot the lid about a first axis to laterally offset the lid from the central opening by a desired amount. With the lid in such an offset position, the user can access the container to, for example, discard waste materials, without having to remove a workpiece resting on the work surface. The greater the amount by which the user offsets the lid, the greater the amount of the container opening that is accessible. A user can also pivot the lid about a second axis to swing the lid open and closed if, for example, the user desires greater access to the container and no workpiece is resting on the work surface.
