摘要: Heavy duty conveyor belts (1) having excellent resistance to high temperatures. These conveyor belts (1) can be repeatedly exposed to temperatures of greater than 200° C. or even 250° C. without compromising the strength or reliability of the belt while providing a greatly extended service life. The conveyor belts (1) may also be manufactured in a commercially viable and cost effective manner. The conveyor belts (1) generally include a reinforcement layer (3), a carry cover layer (2) disposed above the reinforcement layer (3), a pulley cover layer (4) disposed beneath the reinforcement layer (3), and the carry cover layer (2) is comprised of a fluoroelastomer. In some aspects, the conveyor belts (1) have a carry cover layer (2) which includes an outer surface layer (6) containing a fluoroelastomer and an inner layer (7) based upon an EPM elastomer or an EPDM elastomer.

摘要: A PTFE/fiberglass composite for use as a conveyor belt comprises a fiberglass fabric having oppositely facing surfaces. The fabric has a structure defining a substantially uniform pattern of openings extending from one to the other of its major surfaces, with the average area of the individual openings being at least about 0.20258 mm2. PTFE films are laminated to the major surfaces of the fabric. The laminated films are interconnected by fluroropolymer ties extending through the fabric openings and are adhered to the major surfaces with a peel strength of between about 5-13 pli. The composite has a thickness of less than about 20 mils and a fiberglass content of less than about 25%.

摘要: A spliced narrow non-directional endless belt for packaging applications, for use with plastic film wrapping packaging equipment. The ends of a coated fabric belt material are butted together and a splice material (also a coated fabric) is centered over the butted ends. Coatings of fluoropolymer dispersions are preferably applied over the various layers, and the entire construction is laminated together into a unitary construction. A fluoropolymer film may be positioned on the inner surface of the belt over the butted ends and over the edges of the belt onto the splice on the front surface of the belt. The resulting spliced belt is non-directional in that it is adapted to rotate in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction when installed in the packaging equipment.

摘要: A belt grill or belt cooking apparatus, of the general type previously known for rapidly cooking meat, grilled sandwiches, etc. in a travelling path through the apparatus, has improvements enabling the belt cooking grill to impart grill stripes or grill patterns on the product as it is cooked. In one embodiment the improved belt cooking apparatus has upper and lower heat platens with ridges or other types of embossings, with the moving belts being formed of a flexible material capable of good heat transfer and good wear resistance at elevated temperatures. The ridges or embossings press the belt into the food product, causing greater heat transfer at the ridges than between them, and thus forming a series of grill stripes on the product while the product is also cooked. In another embodiment, the belts are formed of stainless steel, with corrugations, embossings or ridges which press directly against the moving feed product as it is cooked, to effect grill stripes due to greater heat transfer along the lines of pressure.

摘要: A conveyor belt for circulating within a high temperature furnace, which is consisted of a desired number of flattened cylinders, each of the cylinders being composed of a number of carbon or ceramic fibers cylindrically wound up and flattened. The fibers extend substantially in parallel with a longitudinal or moving direction of the conveyor belt, so that they can exhibit well their tensile strength when the belt is circulated through the furnace. The flattened cylinders are hinged to each other by hinge pins made of carbon or ceramic materials, and are kept as flattened and stretched by means of planar stretchers located within an inner hollow space of each of the flattened cylinders and made also from carbon or ceramic materials.

摘要: A non-halogenated rubber compound is provided for use in conveyor belts, particularly those used in underground mining. The non-halogenated rubber compound is fire-resistant in accordance with MSHA standards and produces acceptable levels of toxicity and smoke upon burning. Such non-halogenated rubber compound includes a blend of rubbery polymers in combination with aluminum trihydrate, which is a fire retardant, and optionally a phosphate plasticizer, which can provide the rubber compound with a more desirable workability. The blend of rubbery polymers is composed of natural rubber and butadiene rubber, and optionally styrene-butadiene rubber, such blend being present in a total amount of 100 phr. In one embodiment, the aluminum trihydrate is present in an amount of about 30 phr to about 150 phr. In another embodiment, the phosphate plasticizer is present in an amount of about 10 phr to about 60 phr.

摘要: A conveyor belt for underground mining that is reinforced by reinforcement layers and is equipped with wear-resistant cover layers made from an elastomeric material is provided. The elastomeric cover layers are comprised of a halogen-free rubber mixture, a main component of which is ethylene vinyl acetate rubber (EVM), and aluminum hydroxide as a fire-proofing agent. In order to achieve a high fire-resistance while at the same time providing a good processability of the rubber mixture, the rubber mixture contains a small amount of stearyl amine. Thereby a calenderable rubber mixture is obtained which is characterized by a reduced stickiness to the calender rolls.
