摘要: A sheet supply device includes a supporter, a rotation device, a guide, a support shaft, a biasing member, a sensor, a roller, and control circuitry. The sensor is disposed to protrude from the facing portion toward the roll and biased in a direction to contact the outer peripheral surface of the roll. The sensor outputs a detection signal at a level corresponding to an amount at which the sensor protrudes from the facing portion. The roller is supported by the facing portion, to contact the outer peripheral surface of the roll at a position different from a position of the sensor in a circumferential direction of the roll. The control circuitry controls the rotation device based on a signal change rate that is a change amount of the level of the detection signal per unit time. The control circuitry causes the rotation device to rotate the spool in the winding direction, and stops an operation of the rotation device when the signal change rate based on a change in relative positions between the outer peripheral surface and the sensor without passage of a leading end of the sheet through the position of the sensor does not exceed a predetermined reverse set threshold value.

摘要: A web handling apparatus is adapted to move web material in forward and reverse directions and under varying degrees of web tension. In such apparatus, a web friction drive is actuatable to assume an operative mode for feeding web material, therefrom, in the forward direction toward a web drawing mechanism and at a rate in excess of that at which the drawing mechanism can draw the same material forward. The web friction drive normally assumes an idle mode in which the friction drive does not exert a web feeding affect on web material moving in the forward or reverse directions. A web tension sensing mechanism connects with the web friction drive, for actuating the friction drive to assume the operative mode in response to sensing a given tension in web material which is moving in the forward direction from the friction drive to the web drawing mechanism, and allows the friction drive to assume the idle mode after tension in the same material has eased or slackened. However, the web tension sensing mechanism and web friction drive remain disconnected as web material is moved in the reverse direction. In this way, the web tension sensing mechanism cannot actuate the web friction drive to assume the idle mode during movement of web material in the reverse direction.

摘要: The disclosure discloses a printer comprising a storage device, a feeder, a printing head, an instruction input portion, a first control portion, a detection determining portion, and a second control portion. The printing head performs desired printing on the print-receiving medium fed in a forward direction along a transport direction by a feeder. The instruction input portion inputs an operation instruction for starting print processing. The first control portion controls the feeder so as to start feeding of the print-receiving medium in the forward direction. The detection determining portion determines whether or not a detecting device detects the identifier after feeding in the forward direction was started. The second control portion controls the feeder so as to feed the print-receiving medium in a reverse direction, and to position a position of the print-receiving medium in a predetermined first initial position.

摘要: A paper magazine made up of a small number of parts and capable of rewinding paper pulled out of the case around the roll of paper in the magazine by turning the paper roll. The paper roll is supported on a roll support shaft provided in the magazine case. The roll support shaft includes a core support rod, a pair of cylindrical end members mounted on both ends of the core support rod, and a core mounted on the core support rod between the end members. The paper roll is mounted on the core. When the paper is pulled out of the paper roll, the core is rotated in one direction, so that one of two torsion coil springs tightens to bias the core in the paper rewinding direction. Thus, as soon as the paper is pulled back into the case, the core is turned in the rewinding direction by the one of the coil springs, so that the paper can be smoothly wound around the core.

摘要: A color printer according to the present invention includes a clutch means, an urging member and a positional alignment mechanism. The clutch means is used for engaging and disengaging a driving force used to move a paper holder means. The urging member (e.g., a spring) is used to urge the paper holder means in a direction opposite to the printing direction. The positional alignment mechanism is used for mechanically determining the position at which printing is to start on the paper when the paper holder means is disengaged from the driving force by the clutch means and is urged by the urging member in the direction opposite to the printing direction.

The controller is configured to control the second roller to rotate in the reverse direction at a timing when a leading end of a sheet that is nipped and conveyed by the first roller reaches a nip of the second roller.
