Abstract:
A medium feed apparatus includes a first sensor, a second sensor, a third sensor to detect rotation of the separation roller, and a processor. The processor controls a motor to put the separation roller on hold from when starting the feed of the medium to when the second sensor detects a front end of the medium and generate the drive force from when the second sensor detects the front end of the medium to when the first sensor detects a back end of the medium, and controls the motor to stop the feed roller while generating the drive force if the third sensor detects rotation of the separation roller in the opposite direction to the medium feed direction during feed of the medium.
Abstract:
A web-guiding system for guiding a web of media travelling from upstream to downstream along a transport path in an in-track direction, including a web-guiding structure and an air source. The web-guiding structure includes an exterior surface having a pattern of recesses formed into the exterior surface, wherein the web of media travels past the web-guiding structure with a first side of the web of media contacting at least some non-recessed portions of the exterior surface of the web-guiding structure. The air source provides an air flow between the first side of the web of media and the exterior surface of the web-guiding structure thereby providing a lifting force to lift portions of the web of media overlying the recesses away from the exterior surface of the web-guiding structure.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an apparatus for stacking vouchers that has at least one circumferential stacking belt (82). The stacking belt (82) has a circumferential belt body and at least one tongue pair (86a to 86c) provided outwardly on the belt body. The tongue pair (86a to 86c) has a transport tongue (90a to 90c) and a pressure tongue (88a to 88c). The pressure tongue (88a to 88c) and the transport tongue (90a to 90c) are configured and disposed such that the pressure tongue (88a to 88c) applies contact pressure to the transport tongue (90a to 90c) in the direction of the belt body at least in a circumferential area of the stacking belt (82).
Abstract:
Paper webs are wound up or supplied to units of a rotary printing press, such as a longitudinal fold former. Flexible endless or open ended traction devices are used. Paper webs are secured to the traction devices in a positive manner. The paper webs or their starting ends can be secured together only for purposes of being fed through the longitudinal fold former.
Abstract:
In a machine for forming articles of sheet material, an orderly succession of flat blanks is fed along a forming path on a roller conveyor having powered rollers equally spaced with a given spacing; on the roller conveyor, the blanks are maintained contacting the rollers by idle-wheel pressure devices, and are deformed by folding devices; the pressure devices and folding devices being fitted to respective gantry-type frames having respective removable cross members, and which can be set to a number of predetermined reference positions and locked in such positions releasably with respect to the roller conveyor; and a continuous guide and slide adjusting assembly being interposed between each frame and the respective pressure devices and folding devices to adjust the position of the devices on the roller conveyor as a function of the shape and size of the blanks.
Abstract:
A device is provided for diverting an imbricated flow of printed products that is transported on a roller table having a plurality of rollers arranged one behind the other. The device comprises an elongated adjustment member whose position can be varied within a sliding plane extending in parallel to a transportation plane defined by the rollers. The device further comprises a plurality of guide elements for guiding the imbricated flow. The guide elements extend into clearances formed between every two rollers and are received on the adjustment member for rotation relative to the adjustment member in a direction perpendicular to the sliding plane and for sliding movement in lengthwise direction of the adjustment member.
Abstract:
A conveyance mechanism includes a lower conveyance guide below an inclined conveyance path having upward or downward inclinations with which a sheet material is to be conveyed, that guides a lower surface of the sheet material; an upper conveyance guide above the inclined conveyance path, that guides an upper surface of the sheet-shaped material, the upper conveyance guide being openable and closable about a rotation shaft, which is on a side of the inclined conveyance path in a direction of a width of the inclined conveyance path to extend along the inclined conveyance path; and a first urging member to urge a portion of the upper conveyance guide away from the rotation shaft in the direction of the width of the inclined conveyance path toward the rotation shaft, the portion of the upper conveyance guide being at an upper end of the upper conveyance guide in an inclined direction.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit to form an image on a sheet, a conveyance roller, a motor, a gear train, a detection unit to detect motor driving current, a phase determination unit to determine a motor rotor rotation phase, and a control unit having first and second control modes. The control unit rotates the rotor to rotate the conveyance roller in a predetermined direction, and rotates the conveyance roller in a direction opposite to the predetermined direction. The control unit controls the driving current in the second control mode, and then switches, in response to a value corresponding to a rotor rotation speed having reached a target speed, from the second control mode to the first control mode to control the driving current. The target speed is a speed which corresponds to a speed when the conveyance roller conveys the sheet and is a constant value.
Abstract:
A method and device for feeding sheets one by one from a stack of sheets to a transportation device are described. The sheet-feeding device comprises a number of parallel, separately driven shafts which are equidistantly spaced from one another and are enclosed in a low-pressure chamber and carry a plurality of feeding wheels. A separating device is arranged above the low-pressure chamber. At least one relieving element is arranged in a vertically displaceable manner between a sheet-supporting position and a non sheet supporting position. Each relieving element is positioned before each wheel shaft and the movement thereof as well as the rotational movement of the wheels are controlled by the control unit depending on the position of the rear edge of the sheet relatively to the wheels.
