    摘要: A method for generating a folding instruction for folding a stack of sheets into a document includes the steps of, for each sheet of the stack of sheets, receiving a folding action on the sheet defined by a fold type and an orientation relative to an observer, the fold type selected out of a mountain fold right, a mountain fold left, a mountain fold bottom, a mountain fold top, a valley fold right, a valley fold left, a valley fold bottom and a valley fold top; generating a function which has the folding action and the sheet as input and an ordered list of new sheets with an orientation relative to the observer of each new sheet of the list of new sheets as output; repeatedly applying the previous steps to each sheet of the at least one list of new sheets until the sheets in the last applied previous steps form the document; and generating a folding instruction including a concatenation of the at least one generated function on the stack of sheets, the folding instruction intended to be transmitted to a folding device for folding the stack of sheets into the document. A folding device and a document processing system for applying the method are also disclosed.

The transport mechanism transports an elongated strip-shaped base material in a longitudinal direction thereof along a transport path aimed by a plurality of rollers of the transport mechanism. The force detection part detects a force applied to a sensing roller in an axial direction of a rotation shaft thereof, the sensing roller being at least one of the plurality of rollers. The controller predicts the meandering state of the base material to output meandering prediction information, based on the force applied to the sensing roller in the axial direction of the rotation shaft thereof. The meandering prediction part corrects the widthwise position of the base material relative to the processing part, based on the meandering prediction information. Thus, the base material processing apparatus is capable of sensing the meandering state of the base material through the use of the existing rollers of the transport mechanism in the processing part, and is capable of correcting the widthwise position of the base material relative to the processing part.

    摘要: The invention relates to devices for aligning sheets (1), which are overlapped with an offset and supplied to the device by a stream feeder and which can be transferred to a device (63) that is located downstream, after alignment of the front edge and one lateral edge of the sheets. At least part of a sheet can be brought to rest on the periphery of an alignment cylinder (62), which is used to align the front edge of the sheet by means of front lay marks located on the periphery of said cylinder. At least one recess is provided on the periphery of the alignment cylinder, which, by the application of a negative pressure to said recess allows at least part of the sheet to be fixed by friction on the periphery of the alignment cylinder, in such a way that in the contact zone, drive forces from said cylinder can be transferred by friction to the sheet. A measuring device (64) determines the offset of a lateral edge of the sheet in relation to a predetermined set alignment. A transversal displacement device is used to align a lateral edge of the sheet in accordance with the measurement result of the measuring device. The acceleration and/or speed and/or angle of rotation of the drive motor for driving the rotation of the alignment cylinder can be controlled or adjusted according to predetermined laws of motion, in particular in accordance with the angle of rotation of the alignment cylinder.
