Abstract:
Dicarboxylic diesters are disclosed having the formula (I):
wherein n is 3, and X is a C2 alkylene or a C2 alkenylene group. Such dicarboxylic diesters are useful for inhibiting the methane production in ruminants.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for the continuous production of an adsorption product of a nitrooxy-functional organic compound adsorbed on the surface of a particulate adsorbent material, the process comprising the steps of: continuously feeding particulate adsorbent material into an elongated cavity; continuously conveying the material within the cavity in a downstream direction; continuously spraying a liquid adsorbate onto the particulate adsorbent material, wherein the liquid adsorbate comprises the nitrooxy-functional organic compound; continuously agitating the mixture thus obtained to form the adsorption product; and continuously removing the adsorption product from the cavity. The invention further relates to an adsorption product obtained by such process and the use of such adsorption product in ruminant nutrition.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to compositions comprising a 4-nitrooxybutan-1-ol alkyl ester as nitric oxide donor. More specifically, the invention relates to compositions comprising 4-nitrooxybutan-1-ol alkyl ester as a nitric oxide donor and an ophthalmic drug, useful in controlling elevated intraocular pressure associated with glaucoma or ocular hypertension associated with other diseases or conditions. The invention is also directed to methods of controlling intraocular pressure utilizing said compositions.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to nitric oxide releasing prodrugs of known drugs or therapeutic agents wherein the drug or therapeutic agents contain at least one carboxylic acid group. The invention also relates to processes for the preparation of these nitric oxide releasing prodrugs, to pharmaceutical compositions containing them and to methods of using these produgs.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to compounds containing both an NO-releasing moiety and an H2S-releasing moiety and the use of such compounds in treating inflammatory diseases, including cancers.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for reducing the production of methane emanating from the digestive activities of a ruminant and or for improving ruminant animal performance by using, as active compound at least one nitrooxy alkanoic acid and/or derivative thereof, which is administrated to the animal together with the feed. The invention also relates to the use of these compounds in feed and feed additives such as premix, concentrates and total mixed ration (TMR) or in the form of a bolus.
Abstract:
Process for the production of a chemical compound from a carbon dioxide starting material, comprising the steps of a) providing a feed stream consisting mainly of carbon dioxide; b) electrolyzing in an electrolysis stage the carbon dioxide in the feed stream to a first gas stream containing carbon monoxide and a second gas stream containing oxygen, wherein the molar ratio between carbon monoxide and oxygen is about 1:0.5 in an electrolysis stage; c) adjusting the composition of the first gas stream or the second gas stream or both gas streams to include carbon dioxide, either by operating at less than full conversion of CO2 or by sweeping one or both gas streams with a gas containing CO2 or by at some stage between the electrolysis cell and the oxidative carbonylation reactor diluting one or both gas streams with a gas containing CO2; all while maintaining an overall molar ratio of carbon monoxide to oxygen of about 1:0.5; and d) introducing the first and second process stream into a reaction stage and reacting the first and second process stream combined or in succession with a substrate to the chemical compound by means of an oxidative carbonylation reaction with the carbon monoxide and oxygen contained in the process feed stream.
