    摘要: A process for reducing the amount of soluble polymeric fractions in a sulfonyl fluoride polymer. The process comprises contacting the sulfonyl fluoride polymer with a fluorinated fluid followed by separation of the polymer from the fluid. The fluorinated fluid is selected from hydrofluoroethers and hydrofluoropolyethers. The invention further relates to sulfonyl fluoride polymers obtainable by the process and having a heat of fusion not exceeding 4 J/g and containing less than 15% by weight of polymeric fractions having an average content of monomeric units comprising a sulfonyl functional group exceeding 24 mole %.The sulfonyl fluoride polymers so obtained are particularly suitable for the preparation of ionomeric membranes for use in electrochemical devices.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a telechelic diacrylate fluoropolymer and a process for manufacture of the fluoropolymer. The diacrylate copolymer is of formula CH2═CR′COO—(CH2)n—R—(CH2)n—OOCCR′═CH2, wherein R is selected from the group consisting of i) an oligomer comprising copolymerized units of vinylidene fluoride and perfluoro(methyl vinyl ether), ii) an oligomer comprising copolymerized units of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene, iii) an oligomer comprising copolymerized units of tetrafluoroethylene and perfluoro(methyl vinyl ether), and iv) an oligomer comprising copolymerized units of tetrafluoroethylene and a hydrocarbon olefin, R′ is H or—CH3, n is 1-4 and wherein said oligomer has a number average molecular weight of 1000 to 25,000 daltons.

    摘要: What is described is a reactive extrusion process of making a polymeric hydrogel of a polymeric anhydride or acid, e.g. maleic anhydride or maleic acid polymer, or copolymer thereof, crosslinked with a crosslinking agent containing at least 2 crosslinkable groups, particularly, —OH or —NH2, or both. The reaction product is a crosslinked polymeric ester or amide/imide, or both, suitably having a mole ratio of —OH, or —NH2, to —COOH, of 1:10 to 10:1, preferably 2:10 to 7:1. The hydrogel is particularly swellable in water, e.g. >100% in 1 hour in aqueous media; and forms a thin, tacky layer on a substrate, which property is useful in bioadhesive products.

    摘要: A fluorine-containing copolymer having a solvent resistance and a cold resistance is produced by subjecting vinylidene fluoride and at least one of other fluorine-containing monomers to copolymerization reaction in the presence of a polyfluoropolyether having iodo groups at both terminals, represented by the following formula:I(R)pCF(CF.sub.3)O[CF.sub.2 CF(CF.sub.3)O]mRf[OCF(CF.sub.3)CF.sub.2 ]nOCF(CF.sub.3)(R)pIwherein Rf: perfluoroalkylene group of C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 ; R: alkylene group or polyfluoroalkylene group of C.sub.2 -C.sub.8 ; these alkylene groups may contain an ether bond or may be an alkyleneamide-containing or phenylene diamide-containing group; m+n: 20 or more; and p: 0 or 1. The copolymerization reaction is carried out preferably in the presence of a bromine-containing or iodine-containing monomer compound.
