摘要: In an example, a process for the production of a flame-retardant polymer is disclosed. The process includes reacting a polyol with a phosphorus-containing material to produce a phosphorus-functionalized polyol derivative. The process further includes reacting the phosphorus-functionalized polyol derivative with a polyacid to form the flame-retardant polymer. Phosphorus is chemically bound to a polymer chain of the flame-retardant polymer.

摘要: The present invention provides a copolyester fiber consisting of a copolyester with primarily C2-4 alkylene terephthalate units and a process for producing these copolyester fibers. The copolyester contains more than 4 wt % up to 12 wt % poly(C2-4 alkylene glycol) units and 60 to 260 ppm pentaerythritol units and/or a total of 150 to less than 2500 ppm carboxy methylene phosphonic acid units and/or carboxy ethylene phosphonic acid units polymerized into it.

摘要: Aqueous filler composition comprising a polyester resin, which is built up of the educts (a), (b), (c), (d) and (e) or their ester-forming derivatives, the sum of the reactants corresponding to 100 mol-% and the ratio of the sum of the hydroxyl equivalents (eg OH) to the sum of the carboxyl equivalents in the reactants being between 0.5 and 2.0, where(a) is at least one dicarboxylic acid which is not a sulfo or phosphorus monomer,(b) is 0 to 15 mol-% of at least one difunctional sulfo or phosphono monomer, the functional groups of which are carboxyl and/or hydroxyl groups, having at least one sulfonate or phosphonate group,(c) is at least one difunctional compound which is derived from a glycol containing two --C(R).sub.2 --OH groups,(d) is up to 40 mol-% of a higher functional compound (functionality >2), the functional groups of which comprise hydroxyl and/or carboxyl groups, and(e) is 0 to 20 mol-% of a monofunctional carboxylic acid,it being possible for the radicals R in (c) independently of one another to be hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 -aryl, the amounts of free hydroxyl groups being between 30 and 350 milliequivalents OH/100 g, preferably between 100 and 250 meq (OH)/100 g, and the content of free neutralized and/or neutralizable acid groups, in particular sulfonic acid groups, phosphonic acid groups and carboxylic acid groups, being between 5 and 350 meq acid groups/100 g, preferably between 9 and 120 meq acid groups/100 g.

摘要: The present invention relates to phosphorus-containing compositions which are polymeric esters having flame retardant properties and also a process for the production thereof, as well as the combinations of such phosphorus compositions with otherwise combustible base materials exemplified by various organic polymers, for example polyamides or polyesters.The phosphorus compositions of the present invention are polymeric esters having as moieties thereof, (A) an aliphatic alcoholic moiety of an alcoholic reactant of 5 to 20 carbon atoms, and from 2 to 10 or preferably 2 to 6 hydroxyl functional groups, with the proviso that there is no hydrogen atom on the carbon atoms which are beta to the hydroxyl oxygen, (B) a moiety of a phosphorus-containing acid halide reactant of 0 to 20 carbon atoms, and having from 1 to 4 halogen functional groups, and (C) a different alcoholic moiety as defined in (A) or a different phosphorus-containing moiety as defined in (B), the said ester having a degree of molecular aggregation of 2 to 100, and with each of (A), (B) and (C) being present at from 1 mole to 99 mole %, with the proviso that the number of alcoholic functional groups on the alcoholic reactants is equal to the number of the said functional groups on the phosphorus-containing reactants.

摘要: Diols of formula where R is C1- 10 alkyl, bromoalkyl or chloro-alkyl (same or different) and n is 0 to about 2000, or isomers thereof in which one or more repeating units are reversed, are prepared by reacting with in a molar ratio of about 1:1 to 1:2001 in the presence of a Friedel-Crafts catalyst at 40-120 DEG C. while passing an inert gas through the mixture.ALSO:Polyethers of formula where R is C1- 10 alkyl, bromoalkyl or chloroalkyl (same or different) and n up to about 2000, or isomers thereof in which one or more repeating units are reversed, are prepared by reacting with in a molar ratio of about 1:1 to 1:2001 in the presence of a Friedel-Crafts catalyst at 40-120 DEG C. while passing an inert gas through the mixture. Diethyl epoxypropylphosphonate is prepared from triethyl phosphite and epibromohydrin and hydrolysed to diethyl dihydroxypropylphosphonate.
