    摘要: A method for transporting a hydrocarbon fluid, such as crude oil and/or natural gas, comprises: drilling a chain of double ended U-shaped boreholes (1A, 1B) into the earth crust (12), such that at least one pair of the boreholes has an adjacent pair of upper ends at or near the earth surface; lining each of the boreholes with an at least partly expanded impermeable liner (14) comprising an expandable tubular, which is circumferentially expanded after insertion into the borehole; interconnecting each pair of adjacent upper ends of the chain of lined U-shaped boreholes by a connection conduit; and transporting the hydrocarbon fluid through a transportation pipeline with one or more W-shaped sections provided by the chain of lined U-shaped boreholes and the connection conduit. The method allows transportation of hydrocarbon fluids through elongate predominantly underground pipelines safely and with a minimum of environmental impact in arctic and other environmentally sensitive areas.

    摘要: An apparatus and process are provided for drilling and completing multiple subterranean wells from a template which is secured within a cased well bore extending to the surface. An orienting cam having a bore therethrough is positioned above the template such that the bore through the orienting cam is automatically aligned with one of at least two bores through the template. Fluid tight seals are provided between the orienting cam and the casing and between the orienting cam and one of the at least two bores through the template. Thereafter, a drill string including a drill bit is lowered from the surface of the earth through the casing, the bore through the orienting cam and the one bore through said template to drill a first subterranean well bore. Drilling fluid and cuttings resulting from drilling a subterranean formation are circulated back to the surface via first subterranean well bore, one of the at least two bores through the template and the bore through the orienting cam and through the casing such that the drilling mud contacts the internal wall of the casing. The orienting cam is repositioned above the template such that the bore through the orienting cam is aligned with another of the at least two bores through the template. Thereafter, a second subterranean well bore is drilled via another of the bores through the template in a manner similar to that described for the first well bore.

    摘要: In order to salvage a slot path on an offshore platform wherein the original conductor pipe has become clogged or otherwise rendered unusable, the original conductor is cut off below mudline, thereby leaving a stub forming a base upon which a suitably oriented deflector trough is attached. A new or replacement conductor is installed along the same slot path until the deflector trough causes the new conductor to follow a deviated path so as to avoid the original conductor. The direction of the deflector trough is selected to avoid existing wells already driven from such structure.

    摘要: An offshore structure that is supported above the water's surface by at least one substantially vertically disposed leg which extends to the ocean floor. The structure is adapted to accommodate a vertical member or riser conductor having a deflector segment capable of engaging one or more fluid carrying conduits or risers which are lowered therethrough. The deflector segment is positioned to engage a lowering riser end so that the riser will be urged outwardly and away from the base of the structure. The riser or risers can thus be readily connected to subsea pipelines which terminate adjacent to the foot of the offshore structure.

    摘要: A subsea marine conductor bending tool for bending lower portions of the marine conductor when in the sea adjacent a subsea wellhead to align the conductor and its coupling member to a subsea wellhead has a plurality of individual bending beam assemblies and means for connecting them together in an articulated vertical array, a running tool for running the array of beam assemblies down within the conductor from an overhead platform to lower portions within the conductor adjacent a subsea location to which the conductor is to be aligned and hydraulically operated means on each of the bending beam assemblies operable from the overhead platform for applying bending forces against adjacent interior portions of the conductor to bend the same as required to align the conductor and its end connector to the wellhead. The bending tool is run down into the conduit, the conduit is bent into an S curve while in the subsea environment and landed into connection to the associated subsea wellhead while being bent by the bending tool, hydraulic fluid pressure used for causing the bending tool to bend the conduit is then relieved after landing of the connector on the wellhead and the tool is then withdrawn from the conductor.
