摘要: An example oil system is provided, including at least one oil chamber forming an oil sump, an oil reservoir, which is arranged separately from the oil chamber, and at least partially arranged at the same geodetic height as the oil chamber, and at least one fluid connection which connects the oil chamber to the oil reservoir. An electric shut-off unit may block the fluid connection of the oil chamber to the oil reservoir in a blocking state and at least partially release the same in a release state. In order to extend oil changing intervals, a number of regeneration operations and an estimate of an instantaneous degree of dilution of oil present in the oil chamber, may be used for activating the electric shut-off unit to connect or block the fluidic connection between the oil chamber and the oil reservoir.

摘要: An internal combustion engine (10) for a vehicle comprises a fuel injector (12) which supplies fuel to a combustion chamber formed in a piston (1), and an oil pan which stores engine oil below the piston (1). With regard to a phenomenon whereby the engine oil is diluted with the fuel injected by the fuel injector (12), a controller (90) determines whether or not the engine oil needs to be regenerated (S13). When the engine oil needs to be regenerated, the controller (90) switches a cooling water path in the engine (10) by controlling an electrically controlled thermostat (74), and raises the temperature of the engine oil over a predetermined time period (S15, S17). As a result of this temperature increase, the fuel in the engine oil is vaporized, thereby reducing the dilution ratio of the engine oil, and thus the engine oil is regenerated.

摘要: In an oil level detection system of an internal combustion engine having a filter to capture particulates in exhaust gas that is burned off by fuel supplied by post injection to be regenerated and having an oil level sensor installed in an oil pan, it is determined whether the engine is under a long idling state and if so, an estimated value of the engine oil level is calculated by correcting output of the oil level sensor by an evaporation amount correction factor. Then, it is determined whether the level of the engine oil is sufficient by comparing the estimated value with a threshold value. With this, it becomes possible to detect the oil shortage without delay.

摘要: A method for determining a fuel-dilution condition of a lubricant used in transportation and industrial equipment. The method uses apparatus that applies a high frequency and optionally a low frequency oscillating signal to electrodes immersed in the fluid and quantifies fluid response to the signals. Apparatus can further include means to control the lubricant temperature, or a temperature sensor to monitor the lubricant temperature at the electrodes. The method monitors response of the lubricant to the applied electrical signals and determines ratios of lubricant properties. The high-frequency lubricant property ratio or change of high frequency lubricant property as a function of a lubricant use-measure is compared to a predicted ratio based on lubricant use and an estimate of the lubricant's fuel dilution determined. The optional low-frequency lubricant property ratio is compared to thresholds to determine when the lubricant loses the ability to control fuel dilution. The method outputs information relevant to the fuel-dilution condition of the lubricant.
