    摘要: An internal combustion engine comprises a variable compression ratio mechanism that changes the relative position of a cylinder block with respect to a crankcase and a controlling device that controls the variable compression ratio mechanism. The variable compression ratio mechanism contains a driving device that rotates a shaft that includes an eccentric axis, and the drive device includes a clutch that blocks reverse input and is disposed in a drive power transmission route that transmits the rotational power of a motor to the shaft. The control device fixes the mechanical compression ratio to a predetermined low mechanical compression ratio when the amplitude of the rotational power vibration applied to an output shaft of the clutch is less than a predetermined determination value.

The first portion includes a first inner periphery. The first inner periphery has a first radius. The second portion includes a second inner periphery. The second inner periphery has a second radius. The first radius is larger than the second radius by 100 μm to 1000 μm.

    摘要: According to the present invention, a variable compression ratio engine includes a cylinder head and crankcase directly joined by a control shaft, thereby eliminating use of a link between the control shaft and cylinder head. The present invention has a low manufacturing cost and a small size ideal for mass production applications. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the control shaft includes a primary set of bearings and an eccentric set of bearings. The primary control shaft set of bearings are mounted directly in the crankcase assembly, and the eccentric control shaft bearings are mounted directly in the cylinder head assembly. There is only one control shaft per cylinder head, and there is no link between the control shaft and cylinder head assembly. The variable compression ratio mechanism also includes moment retaining means to prevent the cylinder head assembly from rotating out of alignment when the engine is running. The moment retaining means is a bushing that is mounted around the engine cylinder. The bushing provides the moment retaining means needed for holding the cylinder head assembly in alignment when the engine is running, and also provides displacement means, where the cylinder head assembly can slide on the bushing. The displacement means is needed to allow the cylinder head assembly to move relative to the crankcase when compression ratio is adjusted.

    摘要: An engine is equipped with a supercharger (exhaust turbocharger) which is rotationally driven by means of exhaust gas and in which an expansion ratio is settable greater than a compression ratio. The engine includes: an operation state determination unit that determines an operation state of the engine; a plurality of exhaust valves provided at a single cylinder; a variable exhaust valve timing mechanism that is capable of changing opening timing of at least one exhaust valve among the exhaust valves; and a controller that, when it is determined by the operation state determination unit that the engine is operated with low load and is acceleration time, transmits a command to the variable exhaust valve timing mechanism and advances the opening timing of the at least one exhaust valve relative to the opening timing of another exhaust valve. Thereby, supercharging response and the expansion ratio are maintained.

    摘要: A system and method for providing a variable compression ratio internal combustion engine is disclosed. The system can include a frame affixed to the engine crankcase and a complementary frame affixed to the block/cylinder head assembly. The system can further comprise an actuating system to enable the block/head assembly to be moved up and down with respect to the crankcase, varying the compression ratio of the engine. A number of mechanisms can be used to achieve this movement, including a rack and pinion, a hydraulic or pneumatic actuator, and a gear drive. The compression ratio can be varied continuously during use. The frames substantially limit movement of the engine components to the y-axis, thus reducing, or eliminating, unwanted movement and stresses in other directions.
