摘要: Methods and systems are provided for improving calibration of a variable compression ratio engine. Cylinder-to-cylinder compression ratio variations are detected and accounted for by comparing cylinder fuel flow and IMEP at each compression ratio setting. Dilution parameters including EGR and VCT schedule are also calibrated to account for the cylinder-to-cylinder compression ratio variations.

摘要: A variable compression ratio engine comprises a stationary engine block in which movable members interact to enable a piston to translate in a combustion cylinder of the engine block, defining a stroke of the combustion piston The engine further comprises a self-contained device for adjusting the position of the top dead center of the combustion piston, the self-contained device being connected to or built into at least one of the movable members and having a high-pressure hydraulic chamber to counteract the combustion and inertial forces at the bottom dead center, a low-pressure hydraulic chamber to counteract the inertial forces at the top dead center, at least one calibrated conduit to enable hydraulic fluid to flow between the high- and low-pressure hydraulic chambers, and return means to bring the device back to a nominal position.

摘要: The control shaft (20) of a variable compression ratio mechanism is coordinated with the auxiliary shaft (25) of an actuator device (1) through an intermediate link (31). The housing (5) of the actuator device (1) has on the lower surface thereof an oil filter mounting seat section (36), and a stopper section (37) is formed integrally with the oil filter mounting seat section (36). A second arm (28) of the auxiliary shaft (25) comes in contact with the stopper section (37) to define the limit of the compression ratio on the low compression ratio side. The stopper section (37) has high rigidity because the oil filter mounting seat section (36) having high rigidity and the stopper section (37) are integrated together.

In one example, as the compression ratio increases, the split ratio of fuel injected during an intake stroke relative to a compression stroke is increased, with a start of the intake stroke injection retarded and a start of the compression stroke injection advanced. Additionally, the fuel direct injection split ratio and injection timing may be further adjusted responsive to an indication of pre-ignition or knock.

摘要: A crankshaft bearing part (11) has a pair of main bearing metals (41), and lubricating oil is guided from an oil gallery to an inner circumferential oil groove (43) through an in-block oil passage (33) and a first oil hole (42). Some of the lubricating oil is supplied to a control shaft bearing part (17) via a second oil hole (44) and an in-cap oil passage (34). Lubricating oil is guided from a third oil hole (46) in a pair of control shaft bearing metals (45) to an inner circumferential oil groove (47). The oil groove (43) in the crankshaft bearing part (11) functions also as an oil passage for supplying lubricating oil to the control shaft bearing part (17), thereby achieving a simple configuration.
