摘要: A method for moving a vehicle in a reverse direction is provided. The method includes: providing an internal combustion engine, a transmission, and an electric machine; adjusting a valve timing of either an intake valve or an exhaust valve during a non-firing mode of the internal combustion engine to reduce a rotational resistance; and, rotating the internal combustion in a backwards or reverse direction so that the vehicle moves in a reverse direction.

摘要: Although internal combustion engines typically waste about 75% of their fuel energy, this invention can provides 31% or more brake horsepower than the engine alone by using anhydrous organic racing engine coolant or other anhydrous organic heat transfer fluid arranged to spiral around a combustion chamber until heated to over 250° C. without boiling while exceeding the boiling point of a separate working fluid that is heated by coolant then superheated by exhaust gas before entering a unique positive displacement vapor expander engine having a piston connected by a clutch to a driveshaft that is also driven by the combustion engine to create a high efficiency direct mechanical powertrain which avoids losses of about 15% had a generator charged a battery powering an electric motor-generator connected for regenerative braking to charge batteries. Highly elevated coolant temperatures also reduce cylinder and exhaust temperatures to lower emission toxicity while preventing lubricant burnout.

摘要: A valve timing adjustment system includes a valve timing adjustment device, a phase lock mechanism, a hydraulic control valve, an electromagnetic drive section, and an electronic control device. When the lock pin included in the phase lock mechanism and having the tip thereof fitted into a fitting recess is removed from the fitting recess, the electronic control device performs an initial control of applying current to the electromagnetic drive section at a prescribed current value for a prescribed time to move a spool of the hydraulic control valve from an initial position. Thereafter, the electronic control device performs a gradual change control of applying current to the electromagnetic drive section while gradually increasing the current value from a current value smaller than the current value applied in the initial control but greater than 0, to remove the lock pin from the fitting recess.

摘要: A control device for an engine is provided, which includes a combustion chamber formed by a cylinder and a piston, an intake air amount adjuster that adjusts an intake air amount supplied to the combustion chamber, a controller switchable of a combustion mode between a fuel-lean first combustion mode and a stoichiometric second combustion mode based on an engine operating state, and an intake air cooler that cools the intake air supplied to the combustion chamber. The controller controls the intake air cooler to start intake air cooling in response to a request for switching the combustion modes, and after the intake air cooling is started, controls the intake air amount adjuster to start the switching of the combustion modes, and then controls the intake air cooler and the intake air amount adjuster so that the switching of the combustion modes ends after the intake air cooling is finished.

摘要: A method for correction of intake pulsation is provided. The method includes calculating a basic air charge amount of a cylinder or a charge amount conversion coefficient based on a measurement value of a sensor disposed in an intake system of an engine. A basic pulsation compensation coefficient for correcting an intake amount from a basic waveform of pulsation is calculated based on opening/closing of an intake valve and engine RPM. The basic pulsation compensation coefficient is then corrected when the basic waveform of the pulsation is changed.

摘要: A four-stroke internal combustion engine including variable compression ratio comprises a crankcase including a crankshaft having a crankpin and being supported by the crankcase and rotatable with respect thereto about a crankshaft axis, a connecting rod including a big end and a small end, a crank member being rotatably mounted on the crankpin, and comprising at least a bearing portion which is eccentrically disposed with respect to the crankpin, a crank member drive system for rotating the crank member at a rotation frequency with respect to the crankcase which is half of that of the crankshaft, and a control system for operating the engine with repetitive cycles, wherein the compression ratio in the compression stroke is changed. The control system is configured to interrupt the repetitive cycles by rotating the crankshaft an additional single revolution between two successive combustion strokes for switching between a high and low compression ratio.
