    摘要: A pump comprises an outer rotor and an inner rotor. A plurality of pressure chambers are defined between the outer rotor and the inner rotor to cause fluid to be sucked from a suction port and discharged to a discharge port by the movement of these pressure chambers with changing their volumes. A pressure relief passage is opened between the discharge port and the suction port and communicated directly with a fuel tank provided outside the pump. This causes the pressure in the pressure chamber to be reduced before the pressure chamber is communicated with the suction port. In consequence, it is possible to prevent the fuel of discharge pressure in the pressure chamber from being brought in the suction port, thereby preventing the generation of vapor caused due to vacuum boiling and the reduction of discharge rate.

The pumping element has a first intake area oriented toward the bottom of the fuel container and a second intake area remote from the bottom of the fuel container, the second intake area being closable by a closure member movably disposed on the fuel supply unit whenever the fuel level in the fuel container drops below a predetermined level, so that fuel is then aspirated only via the first intake area. The closure member is actuatable by means of a floater body.

    摘要: A fuel burner pumping system includes a pump having an inlet communicating with a fuel source and an outlet which communicates with a control valve assembly for regulating the pressure of the fuel supplied to the fuel burner nozzle or nozzles through a nozzle passage leading from an outlet port of a main chamber in the control valve assembly. High pressure fuel is pumped into the main chamber through a first outlet passage leading from the pump. A second outlet passage leading from the pump to the nozzle passage by-passes the control valve assembly so that air may be purged from the system when the pump initially is started. An air purging valve within the second outlet passage is movable between closed and open positions for blocking fuel flow through such passage during normal operation of the pump and for opening the second passage when the pump initially is started. In one form of the invention, the purging valve is operable manually and, in another form of the invention, the air purging valve operates automatically.

    摘要: In a variable capacity pump with an inlet port and a discharge outlet adapted for connection to a nozzle, a cylinder within the pump body having a casing and a pump stator slidably mounted in the cylinder and receiving a vaned rotor for receiving fluid from said inlet and discharging to said outlet; the improvement which includes a delivery chamber receiving said pumped fluid with a cut off valve opening. Said opening includes a valve seat with a soft valve in one end of the movable stator normally engaging said seat. A spring retainer is normally spaced outwardly of one end of the stator and a weak air release spring is interposed between said retainer and said stator. A discharge pressure spring is interposed between the pump body and said retainer, normally holding the retainer during initial movement of the stator towards and into engagement with the retainer so that initial low pressure air delivered to said chamber lifts the soft valve from said seat for delivery to said nozzle. Solid liquid subsequently pumped to said chamber of progressively increasing pressure causes the stator to move further radially outward against the action of said discharge pressure spring further opening said valve to reach an equilibrium of volume of pumped liquid delivered to said nozzle. The improved pump includes opposed pairs of intake and outlet grooves upon opposite sides of the stator registerable with corresponding pairs of intake and discharge ports extending through the inner and outer walls of the pump cylinder together with opposed bosses upon opposite sides of said stator normally closing one of each pair of intake and discharge ports whereby, the stator is reversible face to face, depending upon the direction of rotation of the rotor. An improved drive shaft seal is incorporated into the pump body which includes a stationary seal element on the body and a rotative seal element engageable therewith and connected with said drive shaft.

    摘要: A portable, rotary vane vacuum pump with an automatic vacuum breaking arrangement that vents the pump to atmosphere whenever the drive motor ceases to rotate the pump. The arrangement prevents lubricating oil in any substantial amount from being undesirably drawn or sucked into the evacuated pump when the drive motor is shut off either intentionally or unintentionally. If the system being evacuated is also still connected to the pump, the arrangement will additionally vent it and greatly limit any amount of oil that may be undesirably sucked back into it. The pump also has a primary oil container that essentially holds all of the oil for the system. The primary container is preferably made of clear, rigid plastic so that the condition of the oil in the system can be visually monitored. It is also removable from the main body of the pump and can be quickly and easily replaced with another container of fresh oil even while the pump is still operating.

    摘要: One set of circumferentially juxtaposed axial surfaces of the motor magnets of a wet motor gerotor pump are separated circumferentially by a tunnel device having a central bridge portion radially just clearing the rotating armature and bounded by a pair of leg portions extending radially outwards from the central bridge portion to establish a substantially laminar flow path for the fuel. The tunnel device further spaces the armature relative to the gerotor pump cavity. A vent valve is provided in the outlet housing of the pump. A spring biases a ball valve against an imperfect seat encircling the inlet passage to provide a permanent vent bypass passage therebetween. The spring seats the ball valve against the imperfect seat to permit fuel vapors to vent through the vent outlet passage until liquid reaches the ball valve. The liquid then overcomes the bias of the spring to seat the ball against an outlet seat encircling the outlet passage to close the same.

    摘要: A gasoline pump includes a cyclone air separator by which air is removed from the gasoline being pumped. The air is vented to the atmosphere through a vent chamber. The cyclone separator includes a scavenging tube for capturing the air bubbles and is coupled to an orifice between the separator and the vent chamber. The scavenging tube and orifice have diameters selected to capture substantially all of the air bubbles and a float valve couples the vent chamber to the pump inlet to return entrained gasoline to the pump. A damped output control valve regulates the internal pump pressure so the cone of air bubbles formed in the cyclone separator remains relatively constant and is efficiently captured by the scavenger tube.
