A pump assembly comprises an inlet, an outlet and a housing having an inlet aperture in fluid connection with the inlet, and an outlet aperture in fluid connection with the outlet. A rotor located within the housing is shaped to form with an interior surface of the housing a chamber. On rotation of the rotor, the chamber conveys fluid from the inlet aperture to the outlet aperture. The housing carries a seal located in the inlet and urged into contact with the rotor to prevent the passage of fluid past the rotor from the outlet to the inlet. Center lines of the inlet and the outlet are parallel to one another. The outlet can be formed by linear movement of a mold core.

The invention relates to a screw spindle pump, with a housing (2) which surrounds a delivery chamber (5), two spindles (7, 8), namely a drive spindle (7) and an opposed running spindle (8), a housing insert (6) which is arranged in the housing (2) and in which the spindles (7, 8) are accommodated, at least one bearing element (13′, 13″), which is connected to the housing insert (6) and on which bearings (12) of the spindles (7, 8) are arranged, and with at least one housing cover (14′, 14″), closing a housing opening. It is the object of the invention to provide a screw spindle pump at which maintenance and inspection work can be carried out more simply and cost-effectively. The invention achieves this object in that the bearing element (13′, 13″) together with the housing insert (6) and the spindles (7, 8) accommodated therein forms a unit (15) which, after the housing cover (14′, 14″) is taken off, is removable from the housing (2) through the housing opening.

The present invention recites a downhole motor and method of manufacture wherein a mandrel having an outer geometry that is complimentary to a desired inner geometry for the stator is provided. A flexible sleeve is provided over the mandrel and the flexible sleeve and the mandrel are provided into a mold. Additionally, a reinforcing material is introduced into the mold to fill space between the flexible sleeve and the mold. Said material is then solidified to bond the reinforcing material and the flexible sleeve. The solidified reinforcing material and flexible sleeve are then removed from the mold such that a stator insert is fabricated.

Implementations of the present invention comprise a rotor assembly for use in a rotary compressor. The rotor assembly includes a shaft, a pair of end plates, an input shaft, and a rotor. The rotor can be positioned between the pair of endplates. At least two of these components can be machined or formed as an integral unit, to increase the geometrical precision and integrity of the rotor assembly. For example, the rotor and input shaft can be formed integrally; alternatively, one of the endplates and the input shaft can be formed integrally. A pair of liners can be provided and positioned between the endplates and the rotor to increase sliding and/or sealing performance against other components of the rotary compressor, such as a gate positioned in a bore of the rotor.

A system for monitoring wear of pump casing liners is disclosed. The system may include a wear sensor disposed in proximity to the pump casing liner so that the sensor wears at substantially the same rate as the lining. The wear sensor may include a plurality of circuit loops having different lengths. As the pump casing liner and the sensor wear during use, the plurality of circuit loops are sequentially breached. A control system monitors the signals from the plurality of circuit loops to develop liner wear information. This information is employed to signal a user when one or more predetermined wear thresholds are exceeded. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

On planes normal to an axis of rotation of the rotor, the surface portion of the rotor has a greater curvature than that of the interior surface of the housing.
