Abstract:
A compressor may include first and second scrolls, and an axial biasing chamber. Spiral wraps of the scrolls mesh with each other and form compression pockets including a suction-pressure compression pocket, a discharge-pressure compression pocket, and intermediate-pressure compression pockets. The axial biasing chamber may be disposed axially between the second end plate and a component. Working fluid disposed within the axial biasing chamber may axially bias the second scroll toward the first scroll. The second end plate includes outer and inner ports. The outer port is disposed radially outward relative to the inner port. The outer port may be open to a first one of the intermediate-pressure compression pockets and in selective fluid communication with the axial biasing chamber. The inner port may be open to a second one of the intermediate-pressure compression pockets and in selective fluid communication with the axial biasing chamber.
Abstract:
Compression of water vapour as R718 is disclosed with and without addition of additives as an aqueous solution in rotational displacement machines, i.e. refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump technology. To largely avoid over or under-compression, it is proposed for the easiest possible adaptation of the currently effective internal volume ratio as so-called iV value in the displacer that the compressor housing starting from the outlet side with rotor profile length LR over a length LiV comprises planar, i.e. flat iV disks (3j) with the index j for 1≤j≤n; n is the number of disks; n≥1 with a width bj per iV disk having planar surfaces PF preferably perpendicular to the neutral axis AN. The iV disks are displaced in a targeted manner individually by movement control devices (5j) per iV disk in each case by a distance si where 0
Abstract:
A compressor includes orbiting and non-orbiting scroll members meshingly engaged to form a series of compression pockets, including first pockets when the orbiting scroll member is in a first position. A first porting in the non-orbiting scroll member communicates with the first pockets during a portion of a compression cycle. The first pockets include a set of radially outermost pockets located radially inward relative to the first porting and isolated from communication with the first porting during the compression cycle. The first porting is aligned with a spiral wrap of the orbiting scroll member at a location radially outward from and directly adjacent the first pockets when the orbiting scroll member is in the first position. Additional porting communicates with each of the compression pockets located radially outward relative to the first pockets when the orbiting scroll member is in the first position.
Abstract:
A vacuum pumping device of the invention comprises a motor (1) driving a multi-stage dry mechanical pump (2) in which the stages (5, 6, 7, 8) are connected successively in parallel and then in series in a plurality of successive configurations, each of which is selected to optimize the pumping speed in the current pressure range. This makes it possible to lower pressure inside an enclosure (100) quickly while reducing the volume of the pump and the energy consumed by the pump by about 40% compared with a traditional pump having a speed that is sufficient to obtain the same rapidity of pumping.

A helical-screw rotary compressor having a twin rotor configuration or a multi-rotor (i.e., at least three) configuration with defined compressor induction and discharge ends has at least one unloader piston disposed at said compressor discharge end with an economizer injection port therein. The unloader pistons being opened and closed in fine discrete steps by microprocessor controlled stepping motors which drive linear actuators.
Abstract:
A screw compressor includes an outlet housing. The outlet housing includes a passage that is configured to communicate compressed fluid from a screw rotor to a discharge. A removable cover plate is configured to cover a portion of the passage. A method of varying a volume index for a screw compressor is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A claw pump includes: a housing; two rotating shafts which are disposed parallel; a pair of rotors respectively fixed to the two rotating shafts; a rotary drive device driving the pair of rotors; and a suction port and discharge ports formed in a partition wall of the housing. The discharge ports are constituted by a first discharge port and a second discharge port. The first discharge port is formed at a position that communicates with an initial stage compression space formed at an initial stage of a compression stroke in a compression space that is formed by joining a first pocket and a second pocket. The claw pump includes an opening/closing mechanism which opens the first discharge port when a pressure of the initial stage compression space reaches a threshold and closes the first discharge port when the pressure does not reach the threshold.

The discharge space may have a volume greater by a set ratio or more than a volume of the back pressure chamber.

Abstract:
A variable capacity screw compressor for use in a refrigeration system is provided. Compressed refrigerant gas from the compressor is expelled into a discharge port in fluid communication with the refrigeration circuit. The volume associated with the discharge port can be periodically varied, allowing the efficiency of the compressor to be varied periodically. The discharge port volume includes a penetration that houses a movable member or plug that permits the volume to be periodically varied. This movable member is accessible from the exterior of the compressor housing to adjust the position of the movable member within the discharge port volume. The movable member may be adjusted to a full open position in which the discharge port volume is maximized, to a full closed position in which the discharge port volume is minimized, and to any position between full open and full closed.
