Abstract: Fittings that generally include a unitary body having an outer surface and an inner lumen forming a void within said unitary body. The lumen is configured to receive threads for mating with the threads of a female sub end of a pipe or tube. The outer surface includes at least one aperture for receiving a tool that can be inserted within said aperture so as to rotate the fitting about an axis that extends through the lumen of the unitary body. The at least one apertures provide a safe and convenient way to tighten and loosen the fitting during the process of coupling pipe or tubing.

Abstract: A monitoring device for a pipe system includes a housing, a housing fastener, and a strap assembly. The housing is configured to mount on an exterior surface of a pipe element of the pipe system. The strap assembly is coupled to the housing with the housing fastener, and the housing fastener is received within the housing to secure the strap assembly to the housing. The strap assembly includes a first strap and a second strap, each of the first strap and the second strap including a mounting end, an adjusting end, and an intermediate portion. The first strap includes an insert tab proximate to the first adjusting end, and the second strap includes a plurality of adjustment slots sized to lockably receive a portion of the insert tab. The insert tab is lockably coupled to the second strap when the monitoring device is tightened.

Abstract: An outboard motor lower-unit lock has a key, a locking pin assembly and a shaft. To install the lock, a user drills a shaft hole the same diameter as the shaft through both sides of a housing unit below an access hole of the housing unit. The shaft is inserted in the shaft hole, and oriented so that a threaded hole in the center of the shaft can receive a threaded pin section of the locking pin. The locking pin receives the key. The key is tightened. Finally, the user removes the key allowing the locking pin to rotate around and below the shaft, thereby obstructing a bolt securing the lower-unit to the housing unit, and preventing the unauthorized removal of the lower-unit.

Abstract: A method for engaging a nut member with an elongate member extending from a subsurface of a building structure, whereby a clearance area above the subsurface of the building structure and surrounding the elongate member is occupied at least in part by the nut member while the surface is applied to the subsurface. The surfacing material is attached to the subsurface of the building structure proximate to the clearance area while the clearance area is so occupied and subsequently the nut member is disengaged from the elongate member to thereby vacate the clearance area previously occupied by the nut member. Also provided are kits comprising nut members alone or in combination with key members which cooperate with the nut members to disengage them from elongate members.

Abstract: An automotive wheel nut has a frusto-conical periphery and in its outer end face has a pair of wrench receiving openings of different diameters and spaced angularly at oblique angles. A wrench member in the shape of a nut has a clearance hole to fit over the wheel stud which projects from the nut and has pins in its inner face so spaced and sized as to fit the openings in the nut. A conventional wrench is employed for manipulating the wrench member to tighten or loosen the wheel nut.

Abstract: A system for connecting a wheel rim to a hub flange of a motor vehicle, having a fastener such a threaded nut or bolt, and a tool which engages the fastener in a positive-locking manner in order to tighten or release the fastener. To provide improved protection against theft of wheel rims and tires, the fastener has an annular groove extending axially from an end surface of the fastener, the groove having an annular base and inner and outer sidewalls shaped to form an undercut wider than an opening of the groove, a recess extending axially below the base for receiving a projection of a complementally-shaped key on the tool to allow rotation of the fastener. The undercut prevents an unauthorized person using a mold-making material, from being able to make an imprint of the groove and producing a tool therefrom to release the fastener.
