摘要: A method for producing an optical silicone assembly is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: i) treating a surface of a substrate with an optically clear silicone adhesive composition; ii) placing the substrate obtained by step i) into a mold; iii-a) injecting an optically clear moldable silicone composition into the mold, and/or iii-b) overmolding the optically clear moldable silicone composition onto the substrate; and then iv) heating the optically clear moldable silicone composition to form the optical silicone assembly. The optical silicone assembly produced by the method of this disclosure is characterized by excellent adhesion of an optical silicone product to various types of substrates.

摘要: A waterproof sheet which is for application to a site to be waterproofed in order to prevent rainwater infiltration thereinto and retard deteriorations which proceed with time, the waterproof sheet comprising: a base layer that comprises a silicone rubber composition reinforced with reinforcing fibers and that has physical properties including high strength; and a pressure-sensitive silicone adhesive layer that has been formed on one surface of the base layer and that has a low hardness and is highly tacky. The waterproof sheet provided by the present invention less breaks than conventional waterproof sheets because of the reinforcement layer, and can conform to cracks or dislocations occurring in the surfaces to which the waterproof sheet has been applied, due to the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer formed on one surface. Since the waterproof sheet includes silicones as main components and is hence excellent in terms of weatherability, heat resistance, and freeze resistance, this waterproof sheet can retain the function required of waterproof sheets, over a longer period.

摘要: A patch is provided and described that can be used with the installation of a cured-in-place structural liner in a conduit when the conduit has protrusions into the conduit. The patch is made with similar material to the liner, or felt, and is impregnated with epoxy. The patch may be shaped to more closely match the anticipated curve of the outer surface of the liner. Tools for the installation of the patches, a method of use, and tools for measuring the quality of the installation of the patch before the installation of the structural liner, are also described.

摘要: A composite structure with high pressure resistance that is suitable for a flow channel is produced by reducing the number of components while maintaining the excellent chemical resistance and high stress tolerance inherent to a glass substrate and a resin substrate. A glass substrate surface is modified with a hydrolyzable silicon compound, and the glass substrate is brought into contact with the resin substrate. Subsequently, the contact surface between the glass substrate and the resin substrate is heated to a temperature from the glass transition temperature to the pyrolysis temperature of the resin substrate, eliminating gaps between the glass substrate and the resin substrate to bring them into close contact with each other, and causing chemical binding or anchor effects between the glass substrate and the resin substrate via the hydrolyzable silicon compound. Thus, the glass substrate and the resin substrate are firmly fixed to each other.

摘要: An electrical insulating system and an associated insulated stator bar are provided. The electrical insulating system includes an electrically insulating mica paper and a fiber glass disposed on a first surface of the electrically insulating mica paper. The electrically insulating mica paper and the fiber glass are impregnated with a curable binder resin composition. The curable binder resin composition includes about 21 weight percent to about 73 weight percent of a solid or semi-solid epoxy resin having an epoxide functionality of about 2.5, about 0.8 weight percent to about 49 weight percent of a liquid epoxy resin having an epoxide functionality of about 2, about 4 weight percent to about 15 weight percent of a bisphenol A-formaldehyde novolac, a metal acetylacetonate catalyst, and about 2.5 weight percent to about 15 weight percent of a toughener selected from the group consisting of polyethersulfone, methylmethacrylate butadiene styrene, and a combination thereof.

摘要: In order to enable lamination of materials of different kinds, such as a synthetic resin plate and a glass plate, without leaving bubbles between the materials, a double sided adhesive sheet (1) is formed by forming an adhesive layer (3) cross-linked with ultraviolet light on one surface of a sheet (2) with an inorganic oxide layer (2B) and forming an adhesive layer (4) cross-linked by heating or moisture on the other surface of the sheet (2). A glass plate (6) is applied to the adhesive layer (3), and a synthetic resin plate (7) is applied to the adhesive layer (4), thereby forming a laminate panel (5).

摘要: Various opacifying adhesive compositions are described. The adhesives exhibit relatively high levels of opacity in wet conditions while maintaining acceptable adhesive properties.
