    摘要: A plasma injection module includes a fuel receiving end, a discharge end opposite the fuel receiving end, and an axial fluid pathway extending between the fuel receiving end and the discharge end. An insulator assembly defines a first portion of the axial fluid pathway proximate to the fuel receiving end. An injection tube assembly having a permanent magnet is positioned downstream of the insulator. A voltage input connection is arranged downstream of the insulator assembly and upstream of the injection tube assembly. The voltage input connection secures a voltage source to the injection tube to form a plasma filament within and adjacent to the axial fluid pathway. During operation a permanent magnet produces a magnetic field that interacts with the plasma filament to rotate the plasma filament and increase an area of ignition between the plasma filament and the combustible material at the discharge end.

    摘要: Some of the most advanced fireworks displays incorporate music, video, lights, and other special effects. For the seamless operation of these displays, the presence of computerized firing systems on the market can be greatly appreciated. In addition to entertainment value, the abilities of initiating a fireworks display from a distance and being able to stop a display at any time has made shooting fireworks displays safer than ever. However, because of the expense of this hardware, these elaborate displays can be far out of reach for anyone who has a lower budget. The idea outlined in this patent will help solve that issue by suggesting an asynchronous computerized firing system. This system can be initiated using a personal computer without any proprietary hardware with the exception of low cost modules.

    摘要: A method for igniting a fuel/oxidant mixture in an industrial furnace. At least one fuel supply conduit and at least one oxidant supply conduit is provided, each conduit having an opening that opens on a side of the burner head that faces the furnace interior space. Fuel and oxidant are supplied to the burner head, and a light detector for detecting ultraviolet light, or other light wavelengths, is provided for detecting light that indicates the presence of a flame. A laser is positioned to emit a laser beam onto a point on the burner head adjacent the conduit outlets and to heat that point to a temperature exceeding the ignition temperature of the fuel/oxidant mixture. When the burner has ignited, the detector emits a signal to a control circuit that extinguishes the laser beam.

    摘要: A gaseous oxygen resonance igniter includes a body with a first inlet for gaseous oxygen incorporating a supersonic nozzle. An outlet from the body incorporates an orifice of predetermined size to maintain a desired pressure in the body. An aperture in the body opposite the first inlet provides a port to a ceramic resonance cavity. A ceramic bleed disc is engaged at a second end of the resonance cavity. An end cap incorporates a plenum adapted to receive high temperature oxygen flow from the resonance cavity through the bleed disc. An exhaust port is connected to the plenum for the high temperature oxygen which flows to a mixing chamber which introduces pilot fuel for ignition as a combustion initiation torch.
