摘要:
An apparatus and related method for operating a cooking appliance comprising a convection oven, a hot-air steamer, or a convection steamer, which includes a cooking chamber which can be closed by a door, a heating device, at least one steam injection device, at least one flow-generating device such as a blower, at least one temperature sensor, which detects the temperature in the cooking chamber, and an electronic appliance control unit with memory, in which cooking programs comprising the cooking sequences for specific food products are stored. Based on the time extending from a starting to a target temperature value, it is determined on the basis of the detected temperature curve in the cooking chamber whether and possibly to what extent it will take extra time to reach the target temperature. On this basis the appliance control unit calculates a cooking time extension, by which the cooking program step is extended.

A system for producing hot water for a residential dwelling by recovering heat from the hot combustion gases in the flue and chimney of the dwelling's heating system. The system uses the usual hot water tank and furnace of the dwelling without any substantial modifications thereto. The hot water tank is located in an upper floor of the dwelling and is connected to the furnace which is located on a lower level by a first section of pipe which extends from adjacent the water heater to the furnace flue within the chimney. A cold water supply is connected to the first section of pipe by a second section of pipe which also extends through a portion of the chimney and the furnace flue to recover heat from the hot combustion gases passing therethrough. The heated water in the sections of pipe flows into the hot water tank through the usual cold water inlet line for subsequent discharge from the tank throughout the house. The usual heating means of the hot water tank supplies any additional heat that may be required to heat the water in the tank to a preset temperature during the summer or during periods of lower furnace usage.

A combinational fireplace arrangement has a plurality of log-shaped members having a hollow center portion with a spiral shaped tube passing serially through each of the logs, which tube conveys a fluid through the log-shaped members. A first fuel burning member, within the log member, heats the fluid passing through the spiral shaped tubing. An arrangement of pipes, encased with heat collectors, placed in the fireplace flue, captures energy escaping from the logs and preheats the fluid. A second fuel burning member, controlled independently from the first, is placed beneath the logs to cause the logs to appear to be burning. A thin gauge twisted pair of copper wire within the spiral shaped tube eliminates the formation of air pockets therein.

A portable space and water heater for use in camping, mobile trailers, pickup campers and the like, that provides space heating and rapidly heats quantities of water efficiently and safely. Heat is generated by burning bottled propane gas that is delivered, under pressure, through two heating systems each of which contains a simple burner assembly. Flame from one burner assembly is directed into and through metal radiating elements against which a fan means can be employed to disperse the radiated heat. The flame from the other burner assembly is directed into a surrounding water heating system through which water is circulated to be quickly heated. The burners may be used separately or operated together and a pilot light assembly links the two burner assemblies together to ignite either or both of them as desired. Heat from both the water and space heating systems flows from the unit through a common exhaust duct. A gas flow control valve assembly prevents gas flow to the water heater burner assembly when water is not present in, or flowing through, the surrounding water heating system, or when a maximum pressure level within the water heating system is exceeded. Water is pumped into the combination unit from a separate water source that is upstream from the water heater system and the temperature of the hot water generated is regulated by the rate at which water is pumped through the water jacket of the water heater system.
