    摘要: A control valve assembly may include a housing, an inlet, an outlet, and a plurality of thermostatic control valves biased toward a closed position and arranged within the housing between the inlet and the outlet. The thermostatic control valves may each be associated with separate respective flow paths between the inlet and the outlet and have different operating temperatures. The valves may be configured to open at their respective operating temperatures and remain open unless the fluid falls below their respective operating temperature such that when multiple thermostatic control valves are open the amount of fluid flowing through the control valve is equal to the addition of the amount of fluid flowing through each valve. The operating temperatures and the flow rates of the thermostatic control valves may be selected to limit the passage of pathogens through the control valve assembly. A degassing valve may also be provided.

    摘要: A solar tracker which has a pneumatic motor that moves a reflective surface. The pneumatic motor is power by pressurized air stored in a pedestal of the tracker. The pressurized air is replenished by a compressor that draws in air from the atmosphere. The pneumatic motor and compressor are controlled by a microcontroller. The controller, compressor and pneumatic motor are all powered by an energy system that converts solar energy into electric power, thereby providing a self-contained tracker. The output shaft of the pneumatic motor is coupled to a reflective surface support structure by a drive system which has intermediate gears and an incremental encoder. The incremental encoder provides a reference point for the position of the reflective surface. The gear is much smaller than the gimbal so that the reference point can be found with a relatively small incremental movement of the reflective surface.

    摘要: The known sun tracker system with helical groove guide that works according to the gravity force principle is not operational without the daily intervention of an operator, limits the weight of the solar collectors, given the muscular strength required, and thirdly makes the tracking speed dependent from the ambient temperatures, because of the temperature-dependent viscosity of the driving liquid. The disclosed tracker system has a vertical pipe, a sleeve provided with a helical groove, a guiding element, a power block that carries most of the weight of the solar assembly and rotary mast, a hydraulic energy accumulator linked by a control valve to a regulating cylinder, so that the system can be operated several days independently of outer energy sources, and a thermo- throttle that allows the rotary mast to turn at a tracking speed independent from the ambient temperature. This sun tracker system is very robust, has a relatively low energy consumption even in heavy solar assemblies and is very suitable for large-scale applications.

The cradle within which a gimbal mounted concentrator dish rotates is designed to withstand high wind forces by delivering all forces along the polar axis to the equatorial end of the cradle, requires only one structural member to withstand flexural forces and provides an unobstructed volume behind the axis of rotation for the concentrator dish to rotate in. The concentrator dish comprises a plurality of segments whose bracing forms a tee-pee-like structure behind the dish. The receiver of the present invention further discloses a receiver cavity which achieves maximum blackness in a minimum depth and volume, a combined heat shield/secondary reflector and a plumbing system which permits the receiver system to operate successfully when the concentrator dish is nearly perpendicular to the ground.

    摘要: A solar boiler of improved energy efficiency that includes a solar panel for receiving solar energy and converting a liquid to steam and a highly accurate tracking system to maintain the panel substantially perpendicular to the sun. The panel includes a plurality of heat transfer liquid carrying tubes having a highly absorptive coating over areas receiving solar energy and high efficiency insulating material over remaining surface areas. An extruded compound concentrating cylindrical lens is positioned over each tube to concentrate received solar energy along a narrow linear energy receiving area. Each panel is mounted for rotation and tilting on a simple, sturdy base. Each panel is substantially closed but includes openings designed so that some air flow through the panel is permitted to prevent excessive heat within the panel while preventing entry of moisture. A tracking system capable of tracking with accuracy of substantially one-half degree or better is provided, utilizing an improved sensor and electronic circuit. A device utilizing the steam produced in the panel, such as a fluid driven engine powered electrical generator, may be positioned closely adjacent to the tubes to receive steam from the tubes.

    摘要: A Solar Power collector, sunfollower, power transmitter and receiver is described. The Solar power collector is a Cassegrain Reflector optical system mounted on a carriage travelling on a semicircular track. A small photovoltaic cell and rechargeable battery provide the power to position the collector. A computer, sensors, electronic circuit and two servomotors provides accurate alignment of the collector with the sun's rays during the day, and returns it to follow the sun again the next morning. Sun-power is preferably transmitted from the collector via a light-pipe to a cavity where it is converted to heat-power. The heat-power may be stored as heat energy in a phase change material at a suitable temperature for cooking or other uses, such as heat-electric power generation. A plurality of collector-sunfollowers may transmit light-power to a single cavity heat storage depot, from which heat-power may be supplied on demand to various utilities.

    摘要: A "Fresnel Scroll" is an optical mechanism which functions as a tracking element (and also, in its preferred embodiments, as a focusing element) in a tracking solar collector system. The device comprises a long, flexible film of transparent optical material, a portion of which is supported in tension over an aperture region, with portions of the film outside of the aperture region stowed compactly on two adjoining storage reels. An incident beam impinging on the film is redirected by means of Fresnel facets distributed over the film surface. The facet structure varies nonuniformly along the film's length dimension, so that the device's optical function can be dynamically varied in response to changes in the incident beam direction by scrolling the film across the aperture, feeding it from one reel to the other. By this means, a Fresnel Scroll may operate in conjunction with other elements of a collector system to concentrate a beam of sunlight of varying direction onto a point- or line-focus receiver.
