    摘要: A furnace for heat treating vertically depending sheet material moving through an enclosed heating chamber, the furnace having entrance and exit openings in opposed end walls and a slot in the roof extending between the openings. The depending sheet material moves through the heating chamber suspended from a trolley supported above the slot, which trolley has hanger rods projecting through the slot. The entrance and exit openings are closed by doors, and an air curtain directed across the slot provides a pressure barrier which, together with the doors, prevents the flow of heated gases from and within the heating chamber.

    摘要: A transport system operates to convey articles preferably through an oven before their subsequent removal. The transport system is synchronized with an article delivery system to receive and subsequently convey articles for final distribution on one or more conveyor belts. This is accomplished by drive mechanism which rotates a plurality of support bars having hooks. These hooks are used to catch articles as they are provided to the transport system and retain these articles during conveyance. An adjustable chute is used to impede the conveyance of only the articles. This causes the articles to be removed from the hooks and slide down the chute to the conveyor belt(s).

    摘要: In a continuous casting plant for slabs with a consecutively arranged rolling mill, a furnace is provided between a strand separating device arranged at a run-out roller table of the continuous casting plant and the rolling mill. The furnace has a feed side, a delivery side and a transverse conveying device for conveying a slab from a longitudinal conveying device arranged on the feed side to a longitudinal conveying device arranged on the delivery side and including a slab storage place located parallel to the longitudinal conveying device. In order to enable the compact construction of the furnace and simple installations within the furnace, at least one fixed hearth having a minimum width adapted to a slab width is provided within the furnace parallel to the longitudinal conveying device. The transverse conveying device is formed by a lifting device projecting into the interior of the furnace through the furnace roof and displaceable from a position above the longitudinal conveying device into a position above the fixed hearth and vice versa.
